Jim is a ****in Ebay guru!

Don't judge it until you putt with it, Fairway. I think my putter is fugly but it has treated me well since the first time I picked it up.

I've putted with one before and liked it but for me all putters are different. For as ugly as the Srixon is it rolls the ball well too. I didn't expect to win the bid on the Futura but I'm stoked. The same thing happened with the J Blade, shit bid and won.

Now I have 6 I would really consider for the bag. The Bullseye is my office putter but the FrankenPutter, Srixon, both Scotty's, J Blade and the Heavy Putter are going to get a look this Season.

I love eBay. I've made enough from eBay to build my bag 3 times over and cover greens fees. What was it Barnum said? There's a sucker born every minute? :)

Can you make a profit on the futura? I'm to lazy to look right now but I will.

I'm sure I could probably swing a profit on both Scotty's I only have $130 in the pair. Hmmm...
None of the Futuras have much resale value, certainly nothing like the more conventional Scottys. The Futura, just like the one you have on the way, is one of those clubs I owned and should never have gotten rid of. Loved how it putted. Makes an interesting sound as it strikes the ball.
One of the guys in a group my brother-in-law plays with, had a Futura for years. His playing partners took an old horseshoe and welded a piece of flat iron across the tips. A piece of 1/2" allthread was welded onto it as the "shaft". They wrapped black duct tape around the upper end of the allthead to resemble a grip. Even took white paint and painted "Cameron" vertically down the duct tape. The old coot actually played a couple of rounds with it, just to show his buddies they couldn't phase him.

Love the attitude. I tend to like different clubs. See Srixon Putter as reference.

Btw, I might have a Futura for sale soon. ;)

So knowing the 2014 buying freeze was quickly approaching I threw out a isht bid on a Scotty Cameron Futura Putter on New Years Eve, that would end last night/today (so I could use my 4th quarter ebay bucks) and I'll be damned is my $51 bid didn't win. Although I kinda hedged my bets the guy had it listed as a Future Putter not Futura. LMAO...winning?!?!

Now my ugly ass Srixon Putter has some competition or I am amassing a spaceship on a stick putter armada. Either way here it is in all its glory. I'll take better pics when it arrives. These are from the ebay auction.

How do you do it? Do you set reserves or Buy it Now? The fees take like 15%, then you have to ship it. I always feel like ebay has me over a barrel.

I like Buy it now or best offer. Fees are 10%. It's harder to make a profit now, you have to work a bit more to make a profit but it can be done. I usually offer free shipping or USPS priority. I charge a dollar or 2 more for shipping now though because eBay charges a fee on shipping charges.

No doubt it's tougher now than it was a year or 2 ago. I used to make a killing selling shaft pulls and heads. I would buy a club from 3balls with a blue or whiteboard and break it up. Easy would make $40+. Now I have had to branch out. Iron shafts, irons, putters. Forget wedges, no money there. It helps to be patient and know what you can sell an item for, that way you don't overpay.

It's a fun way to pass the winter months (I don't ski, snowboard or snowmobile) and build up some funds for summer.

I was adding in the PayPal fees.

It seems like new stuff is the only thing that sells well. That 913 fw I sold had like 40+ bids. Everything else I have sold has done good to get 15 bids.

When is the best time of the year to sell? When you auction something, when is the best time/day to end the item?
