No Doug, he's talking about the Woodlands course at Chateau Elan (I've played it once). You're thinking about Woodlake on Hwy 138. Woodlake is one of the ones near my house.
Chateau Elan ain't cheap, but it's a real nice course.
I'm still around, I just don't post much. I actually live in Loganville, not far from Cedar Lakes, Cherokee Run, or Woodlake. Doug and his buddies are the only ones I've played with from this forum. I've played with a few from the old website.
Never played Charlie Yates, but used to play...
I've been putting horribly lately. I 3-4 putted dang near every green Friday. Finally I realized what I was doing wrong. Of course it was the 16th hole before I figured it out! By the next round, I'll probably forget again...
I'll tell two on myself...
One afternoon we were playing a very old 9 hole course with huge oaks all around. As we're approaching the 9th green, my ball is sitting maybe 20 yards behind one of these huge old oaks. I have to pass the old tree as closely as possible to get to the green. What I...
Doc,
EDSGolf may be able to get you one somewhere. If not, just about every major hotel and condo in MB have a concierge that can get you on somewhere. Since most of the nicer courses are in high demand, the concierge will have an easier time with the cheaper courses.
Last time I needed a...
I play in a couple of charity scrambles a year. I always go out with no other expectations than having a couple of beers and having a little fun.
I played in one Thursday with my brother, my sister's boyfriend, and a buddy from high school (his company paid our entry fee). My brother and buddy...
Going to be there the week of July 14th visiting SWMBO's family. I'm figuring on letting them visit while I find a place to play golf. There doesn't seem to be much action in Booneville, so where else is a good place to play? Looks like Tupelo is about 30 miles and Corinth is about 20 miles. Any...

Won a driver (Mactec NVG2) in one of their ebay auctions. They had rated it 3 stars (good condition). It was much nicer than I expected. There is slight face wear and one tiny scratch on the crown. Had to look closely to find the scratch.
Can hardly wait till the weekend to try it out. I hate...
Bump....Haven't heard anything about this is awhile. Just checking to see if any progress has been made?
Got out to The Creek at Hard Labor again. This time I couldn't get off the tee box, but was rolling in some long putts. One was over 50 feet! Maybe one day everything will come together at...
I went out Sunday, but I'm not sure you'd call what I was doing golf. Only the 2nd time this year. Was yanking everything left off the tee box. Did manage to make a few decent putts, but not enough to save any kind of decent score.
I'm so inconsistent I'm bound to be playing with better players. If they're marginally better, then I'm okay. I'll concentrate on playing my game. If I'm playing with someone vastly better than me, I become self conscious about holding them up. Then I start rushing shots and trying shots out of...
You were about an hour ahead of us, but you may have passed me on the putting green. (It didn't do any good.) I still 3-4 putted everything. :(
I was wearing a Georgia Tech windshirt and ball cap. Kinda stood out in the heart of UGA country.
The lady at the pro shop thought is was...
What day did you play? We were there Sunday.
Wish I could play this weekend, but have a little one turning 6 and will probbly have to work some too. I definitely would like to get in at least one more round before their Leap Year special expires.
Haven't worked out in a year due to aggravating an old shoulder injury. Got a new gym application yesterday.

250 max last year.
About 30 years ago, when I was 165 lbs. I could bench 300. Way back then, I didn't care about flexibility...
Met up with DouginGa and a couple of his buddies yesterday and played The Creek at Hard Labor. 1st time I'd played this course. Tough, tough course. Very hilly. They've recently rebuilt the greens with a new dwarf hybrid bermuda. The greens are like linoleum, lightning fast. We all struggled...
Hey Doc,
Been doing the one armed paper hanger thing. Took a new job (same company) up in Alpharetta. Been working 12-13 hours a day plus a 2 hour commute home. It's been killing any family and social time. Almost like keeping YOUR hours. 'Bout ready to make a break for it.
If y'all decide Georgia is the place to be, then I'd love to join you at Hard Labor Creek. Thing about Hard Labor is that there are cottages and camp sites available for those so inclined. There are a few motels within a short drive.
Another close possibility is Long shadow at Madison, Ga...
DouginGa and I played Wednesday and quit when an afternoon thunderstorm popped up. This one had the kind of lightning that crackles for a few seconds. We made a beeline for the clubhouse even before any rain started. We passed several golfers who looked at us like we were the crazy ones...
I have very little drawl. Most people think I'm from somewhere in the mid-west. My sister is a different story. You'd think we were from 2 different families.
She tawks liike theeus. You'd wanna finnish hur centences fo hur.
I've seen guys almost kill themselves over a southern belle's...
