i just moved from kentucky to sugar land, tx (suburb of houston) and it seems like everywhere around here is a country club. i was wondering if its a good idea to join one of these.
also what kind of income should one be receiving in order to reasonably afford membership fees?
ive asked some...
hello,
i started playing golf two years ago and have been pretty obsessed for those two years and play as often as i can and have worked my ball striking to what i think is adept. im 22 yrs old, 6'1 and 200 lbs. my 5i goes about 200 on a good strike. i still have my first set i got two years...
hey so im going to houston, tx for a job interview and ill be done on friday at noon. they couldn't get me a flight back home until saturday at 1pm so i basically have 24 hours of time to do whatever. right now im in kentucky where its currently freezing raining and the temperature is below...
im going on a 15 hour plane right next week and might read a book or 4...
i just started playing golf last summer but am addicted now and im sure theres some good golf books out there.
please recommend your top 3 or so. im not sure if i want a purely instructional book or just some nice golf...
hmm i hit an aldila vs proto 80S yesterday and i didn't like it much either. they didn't have any X-stiff shafts so i couldn't try any but the vs also seemed to somewhat balloon up. i definitely want to try a lower loft now. the R was a 9.5, the FT-5 i hit with the vs 80S was a 9.5 and my...
for those wanting to purchase
Titleist 905R Driver 9.5 Proforce V2 Stiff - (item 290142134870 end time Jul-27-07 16:58:32 PDT)
as far as swing speed, well i haven't been on a launch monitor in awhile so im not sure how that has changed, but the v2 doesn't feel very whippy so the thought of the...
well im definitely hitting it in the sweet spot, i can see the majority of the ball dimplies right in the center where there are no grooves. the sound thing is kind of throwing me off. i can't see how anyone could like the sound it makes so the thought of it maybe being a fake head entered my...
so some of you may remember my thread a week or so ago about buying a driver i had never hit before:
http://www.shottalk.com/forum/equipment-talk/13031-just-bought-driver-ive-never-hit-before.html
well ive hit it for 3 days now and i don't like it.
first the performance, on good hits it is...
ok ill be "that" guy...
driver = 310
3w = 280
3i = 230
4i = 215
5i = 200
6i = 180-190
7i = 170-180
8i = 155-165
9i = 145 -155
pw = 135-145
52* = 120-130
58* = 110 and in
with my lower irons, i hit them so high from spin so i start losing distance.
i have a big gap between 3i and 3w...
lol well considering i bought my first driver, the cleveland launcher after coming on here and seeing everyone talk about how great it was, its only fitting i get the next shottalk driver. now that i think about it, i bought that launcher under similar circumstances as this one. i hit the 2006...
jump on the 905R train. also whats the blueboard? ive heard people mention that shaft a lot. ive only tried a few shafts (proforce v2, aldila nv65, and some terrible stock gold cleveland shaft) and so far the v2 76g stiff shaft seems to fit my swing. i swing really hard and fast and the heavy...
well i just went to my range and demo'd a 905R with v2 stiff. the only difference is that the demo was a 10.5* and i bought a 9.5*. i love everything about the driver but i mainly think im in love with the shaft. the v2 just feels so much more solid consistent than the nv65. im guessing its the...
yeah i just bought a driver off of ebay and ive never hit it before.
eBay: Titleist 905R DRIVER 9.5* w/ UST Proforce V2 STIFF (item 270145158727 end time Jul-14-07 19:23:12 PDT)
right now im using a 2005 cleveland launcher 460 ti with aldila nv65 stiff. i hit it decently but i think the shaft...
im an idiot and i left my wedge on the golf course today. :( it was a cleveland 588 60* wedge. i don't feel ill right now because i bought it a year ago on ebay for like 35-40 bucks. i still feel so stupid for leaving it. i called the proshop and they said no one turned anything in which doesn't...
alright i bought that titleist sc65 for $135 at dicks. it seems to have everything i want but we'll see tomorrow when i put it on a cart and see how it fairs.
the only problem now is that i left some stuff in the bag that i returned (the titleist x76). i left my tee pass as well as a new bag...
uh i don't know what part you got confused at... i originally bought a carry bag (the titleist x76) because i thought i might walk but i walked a round with it yesterday and it was miserable and i didn't like it for the reasons i mentioned. so now i want a cart bag cause i will prolly ride most...
ok i know i started a thread last week asking about the best stand bag. i actually went out and bought the titleist x76 bag and walked a round with it yesterday. it was miserable. the bag was pretty heavy with all of my stuff in it and the straps really hurt my shoulders. the legs were terrible...
im still using my first golf bag (walter hagen stand bag) and im starting to realize how terrible it is. i bought that bag before i even started playing golf and didn't know what to look for in a bag. the club dividers suck and my grips get stuck on them when i try to pull a club out. the legs...
well im still fairly new to the game and no ive never marked my ball. for me, it is always easy to identify my ball. i can just remember every mark or scratch on it. i don't normally play new balls but ive learned my lesson and will start marking all of my balls.
