OK guys, this works really well on another site I'm a member of and thought I'd give it a run here. Basically put:

US Masters

The Open Championship

The US Open

The US PGA

Official World Golf Rankings

Bureaucracy

1. 5 player choices (maximum 2 from current top 10)

2. Selections need to be posted in this thread for each Major by the designated time set by me. (2 hours prior to first group tee off for each major)

3. Major Series Winner will be decided on greatest accumulation of prize money for the 4 respective Majors from their 5 selected players (in the unlikely event that more than one ST'er has the same accumulated prize money at the end the prize pool will be shared). You can pick different player selections for each major, obviously.

4. If a player withdraws from the field before tee off on day #1, the 1st emergency will be substituted for all entries with that withdrawn player. (except in the case of the Masters)

5. Any player who withdraws from the event after the tournament starts (ie. after day 1 begins) no substitutes are allowed in their place.

6. I am the Adjudicator in any disputes and all decisions are final.

7. $10 for Major Series punt. Can enter this competition at any time. If you miss the Masters, you can still enter & win but you will have some catching up to do.

8. The Majors Series Winner will be decided on greatest accumulation of prize money for the respective 4 Major’s from the entrants players earnings.

9. If in doubt on any matter, refer to #6 for clarification.

10. The Adjudicator (me) will post the results of the tipping comp in this thread after each major.

11. $10 fee for the series. Ideally it would be great if we could have at least 10+ people in this to make prize pools worthwhile but if a group of 5 guys want to do it then I'm happy to run that too.

12. Prize money will be split – 1st Place 70% of the pot, 2nd Place 20% of the pot, 3rd Place 10% of the pot.

13. Non-payers WILL be named and shamed. In my experience it's the best way to ensure that people get their money, or at least organise something with the winner...

14. If there is interest in this competition for each individual major we can certainly run that too. Just let me know if you would like this and I'll set it up. May take the place of the Coffee Cup challenge if it doesnt get off the ground. (For the record, I'm interested!!! ;))

What say you, ST????

OK so far we have:
1. LeftyHoges
2. IG
3. VT
4. Sssmokin'
5. AG

Please add your name to the list if you wish to join in.

So we have a couple of choices:
1. You guys can PayPal the cash to me now and I'll keep it in a fund and distribute it at the end.
2. We can worry about and figure it out at the end.
I'll leave it up to popular vote to decide this, but my vote would be for option 2 (stops the chance of someone skipping out halfway through the year without paying. Yes it's only $10, but believe me, it happens).

Also, any interest in $10 per individual major?

To get maximum profit from this should we play in US, Canadian or Australian dollars??? :p

Either way is fine with me...........I'll go along with the majority. I don't know about the $10 per major though. I'm just not lucky.........don't go to the casinos because I can stay at home and light a few twenties on fire .............same result, but save the trip that way.

OK, Well I've had a good hard look at this and decided upon a few things. Firstly, Hockey and Drinking (especially Moosehead, love that beer) are perfectly acceptable excuses for not getting your tips in. I'll leave the final decision up to Ssmokin' and IG whether to allow you guys in the way I have, which is basically to give you the lowest prizemoney won by another participant MINUS $100,000 or whether a different punishment should be administered. As you'll see from the leaderboard, it puts you behind but not by so much that you couldn't be leading after the next major (with some good selections of course).

Secondly, IG's FOUR submissions in the Coffee Cup Thread stand with no problems. As he didn't officially have Geoff Ogilvy picked until the completion of Rd 1 I have only allocated 3/4's of Ogilvy's prizemoney.

So long as there are no major objections (and please tell me if there are) the leaderboard after the 2011 Masters looks thusly:

If any other members feel like joining in on this fun we can put you in the same situation as VT and AG, a bigger kitty to play for would be nice.
