I've just placed the order for a Miura MC102 3iron with a Nippon NS 1150 tour shaft. The vendor is also going to look into a 7iron 201 head for me to replace my dinged 7iron. I figure I'll play my current set for the winter golf then sell them in the spring and go to the full set. MC 102 3-5 and 202's in the 6-PW. I may do the same delofted setup I have now with no 4iron of I'll go to a blade PW and change my wedge setup to 53-59.

Irons look good. But on a side note this couldn't hurt.

They are really not going to be all that bad. I'm paying $125 per iron and that's put together with a Nippon NS1150 by a professional clubmaker. That's all spined, frequencied, swingweighted and all that good stuff. If I go with the deloft of the 5-PW and play 25.5* 5iron, 45.5* PW that's actually less than the top OEM sets are retail and even with the 4iron it comes in at an even 1K. I suppose that's not all that staggering to me because a) I plan to keep them for a few years and b) I believe 100% they are not only the best irons on the planet but also the best for my swing after the subtle bounce/grind changes they've made.

you can get 3-pw for 1000 if they are 125 each. Better deal than i thought they were.

That's a really good price, Ez. Individual iron prices for a lot of major OEMs is around 110-120 a club so 125 (with a Nippon shaft no less) is extremely reasonable. I'm a fan of the individual iron purchase for two reasons; 1) I don't play a 3 or 4 iron and don't want to pay for them and 2) total customization (eg. what you're doing with the MC, CBs, and maybe Tourney Blade).

Speaking of the Miura blade, don't shy away from it. I did a demo of an 8 iron (Nippon shaft) back in the spring (when my swing was really clicking) and I found it to be extremely playable. It is simply the best feeling club I've ever hit.
