Got back last night from a 4 day trip to one of the most beautiful of our South Texas lakes (Amistad). Great trip!

Not too shabby...looks like a pretty big lake. Is that a "normal" size for lakes in Texas or is it a "big" one?

Silver, yep, it's one of our biggest. It's 69,000 acres (when at full pool) and is approx. 50 miles long using parts of the Rio Grande, Pecos and Devils rivers. Avg. depth about 45 ft., 200 ft. at it's deepest. The water can fluctuate up to 50' a year based on rainfall, etc.

Others I fish are closer to 20-28,000 acres.

BTW, if you're a fan of fast boats, the one in the pic (not mine, I'm too skeered!) is 88+ mph with a light load.

Nice! I grew up on Texas lakes (Texoma primarily) and still scoff when I go to the ponds they call lakes here in Colorado.

Nice pic P. Living here with Lake LBJ, it'd be nice to have a lake that big but I guess having one that doesn't go up and down is ok too.

88 mph is smokin fast. I thought I was flying getting mine over 50. :)

Hah, I think our boat tops out at 42.

I think our lake is pretty big though...Lake Okanagan, somewhere around 70-80 miles long and between 2-4 wide.

Plus we have the Ogopogo.

Terrific pic P_102.

Sunsets at the lake...

That's just about as good as it gets. Except for sunrise on the golf course.

Is the Sasq from BC? I never really knew...I thought he was just...everywhere.

Ogopogo's flat out from Lake Okanagan though (I grew up in Kelowna).

Yeah, I believe the Sasquatch ranges all along the Pacific Northwest from Northern California to Alaska. At least the ones I've met have told me that.;)
