Well, this weekend, we're taking off on a "guys' getaway" for my buddy's bachelor party. 12 of us are going to the Okanagan Valley (where I grew up) to play some of the nicest courses in BC.

Saturday will be played at Gallagher's Canyon:

http://www.golfbc.com/courses/gallaghers_canyon

And Sunday will be at one of the top courses in Canada, Predator Ridge:

http://www.predatorridge.com/golf/gorgeous-golf-course-map.php

Predator's commonly listed in the top 50 courses in Canada, often in the top 20 even. We're just hoping the weather holds out.

The on the way home on Monday, 4 of us are probably going to stop at a great course in between us called The Falls (http://www.thefalls.bc.ca/golf.html). As long as the thundershowers stay at bay, we'll be good to go!

Many pictures will be forthcoming, I hope.

Looks like a great trip. Hopefully the rain will cooperate.

Predator Ridge is an outstanding course. Take the camera, it's worth it.

Speaking of taking the camera to a Batchelor Weekend...

One of my friends got married about two years out of college. He lives in Mobile, Alabama - which is on the Gulf of Mexico.

His wedding was on Saturday. We went down on Tuesday and started the party on Tuesday night. The first night was Strip Joint Night. We stayed there until about 4 am and got to know some of the girls. We invited two of them to come out to the beachhouse on Thursday night for a "private party". This was the Batchelor Party.

Back then, (1979) the beach was not built up with condo's like it is today. It was very private and you had single family homes (built on stilts or poles) with their own waterfront. There were no tourists and the only people there were homeowners who had a second home on the water.

We went out there at about 7:00 and got a gas cooker and cooked about 50 pounds of shrimp and had a keg. We were tanked by 9:00 when the girls arrived.

It got wild. I won't go into all the details but...

I Got Pictures.

I have a picture of the groom to be - on his back on the floor in the den. One of the girls is sitting on his face and the other is on top of his Johnson.

I had one particularly funny picture where I asked the one who was sitting on his face to move back just a couple of inches. Got a shot of her bush right below his chin. He had a huge grin on his face...

Then the wedding on Saturday night. We went to the store and got 200 condoms. All of the groomsmen had condoms in their right pockets. We would put a condom in our right hand and whenever we shook hands with someone - we would place the condom in their hand.

His grandmother asked, "What's this"? We were laughing our faces off the entire time.

So, then we have the wedding and we are able to find his car while they were changing into their casual clothes after the reception. They were going to drive about 200 miles in the car after the reception.

We went to the Bait Shop and bought 200 crickets - which we released in the car. After they changed clothes and were getting into the car to drive away dozens of crickets started hopping out. They were sitting on crickets...crunch..crunch.

We attached a condom to the tailpipe. When he started the car - the condom very very slowly expanded as the exhaust fumes slowly filled it. It stuck out about 2 feet before it exploded. The grandmother had gotten wise at that point and even started laughing as it blew up. All the while the bridesmaids are throwing more rice.

It was a delightful scene...rice in the air...exploding condom on the tailpipe and crickets hopping out of the car.

We also put some Limberger cheese in air filter of the car. Over the first hour of their trip in the car as the cheese heated up - the smell entered the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Needless to say, they were not a happy couple at that point.

BTW - I kept the picture of his "throatbeard" in my desk drawer for 15 years and gave it to him at a party a few years back..but we had already made multiple copies. There may be a few still floating around out there somewhere.

I really look foward to having so many of you here in November.

Maybe I'll pull out the old bag O tricks...

Funny story Bravo. But be careful, you might scare everyone from coming in November if they have to worry about secret pictures. :p

Well, the weekend went down without a hitch. We had perfect weather with only a few drops of rain either day and it was never too hot or cold.

We started out with a trip to a natural grass mini-putt course on Friday night followed up by a game of poker because we had to get up early for our round on Saturday.

On Saturday, we had our full crew of 12 out for a round at a great course (Gallagher's Canyon, link above). We were split into teams and our team handily beat the other two because we had the best of the three really high handicappers (he only shot 120 vs. the other two who shot 145 and 154) and the other three of us shot reasonable rounds as well. I actually had the best 9 of my career with a 42 on the back nine and I had a 50 on the front, but only due to two unfortunate blowups of 9 on the 1st (long par 4) and 9th (short'ish par 5) holes. If I had've bogied those two, I would've shot 85! It was a beautiful course and I look forward to the chance to play it again sometime. I also won the long drive for the day and the guy that won the KP broke 100 for the first time (97) and stuck it to about 18 inches. Great shot.

We then had a really nice dinner at a great steakhouse chain called The Keg where we got our groom to be loaded on a whole 3 or 4 drinks (he's Asian, which often leads to a cheap drunk) - one of which was a "muff dive" - basically, our VERY cute waitress did it for the first time for us - she sits down with a large glass full of whip cream with a shot hidden in it somewhere between her legs and our groom has to find it sans hands. Very similar to a "blow job". That was the last shot for him because he started to fall asleep at the table. We then took him to the strippers down the street where we got him a lapdance, as the woman he's marrying is his first (and last) girlfriend. He was thrilled and couldn't stop talking about how close her snatch got to his face - "it was so awesome, it smelled so good!" He's a pretty funny drunk.

We continued the night with another night of poker, this time I joined in as I'd never played before - now I'm kind of addicted. Our crew is pretty lowkey, so it was nothing too crazy, but a lot of fun.

Sunday, we got up early and headed out to Predator Ridge for nine on each of the Peregrine and Osprey courses. Fantastic courses and I was bombing it with my driver. Finally hit a drive over 300 (310 after a downhill kick). I won two of the three long drives at Predator with good drives, including a 290. The other one, I outdrove the longest drive...but I landed in the wrong fairway...picky partners wouldn't let me take it :)

We then went and played some football and ultimate and then took our groom out for dinner again and got him blasted again (another five shots, what a lightweight). We followed that up with another night of poker, but this time we played "reverse hold'em" or something of the sort...where everyone else could see our two cards, but we couldn't see our own, so our bets were based on everyone else's hands. Talk about a wild way to play.

We were gonna stop and play another course on the way home from Kelowna but the weather wasn't cooperating, so we just drove home on Monday and ended the weekend quietly.

It was a great weekend and everyone had a great time.

I took pictures, but only of golf/football. The pictures can be found here:

Anyhow...that's the rundown, no wild antics to report, but a great weekend and some pretty decent pictures of the golf courses came out of it. I'll try to pick out some gems to throw into the Gallery.

Silver:

Great story and superb pix. I love playing on courses with long vistas like that. Beautiful.

And good job with the stripper too. Very creative.

Great photos! Fantastic scenery as well...almost pretty enough to be Scotland!

Take away the trees and the blue skies and you could be in Ireland. :D

Great weekend.

I can't wait for one of my friends to get divorced (again) so we can schedule a bachelor's party ourselves.
