Hey guys...1st post, brand new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone playing with these irons (Adams Idea)? I just purchased some today after being out of the game for almost 5 years (I used to swing Cobra's, but that is when I was playing every single day and shooting in the mid 70's). I had them fitted to me and my swing today and the clubs will actually be in in about 3 weeks.

Anyone else using Adams Idea Irons? What do you like/dislike about them? I was told that they were very forgiving and all around great clubs, but I wanted to hear it from the people who play with them.

Welcome aboard bogeymaker!

Hmmmm.......out of it for 5 years (why?), used to shoot mid 70's (I have to know why you gave it up again) and want advice on irons?

Sheesh! even with the 5 year layoff I'd figure you could tape a club head to a length of garden hose and shoot bogey golf. :D

I have no experience with the Adams irons but I have never read anything bad about them and since you already own them I figure you're pretty much stuck with them. ;)

Heh...I havent played for that long because, well, I got married and started my own photography business. The business took about 14 hours every day and my wife took the rest. I am now just getting to the point that I can run my business and play a little bit every now and then.

I said i used to shoot mid 70's but it is more like high 70's, low 80's with some mid 70's thrown in. :p

I used to play EVERY single day at my local course where I used to live...mainly because at that time I was a police officer and we got to play there for free - greens and carts. I just couldnt NOT play then. I would venture to say that if I had played a harder course during that time that I would have not shot as well.

I actually played for the first time in about 5 years today with a thrown together hodge podge bag of clubs (some blades, some ladies clubs and wooden Spaulding drivers) and I absolutely SUCKED. I tested the Adams IDEA sticks out at my local golf store and really liked them a LOT. BUT, that was at the store hitting them into the net. That is what got me to wanting to go out and just play 9 and I am really glad that I did, even though I was shooting worse than most hacks. Im excited though, about getting back into the game and hope that maybe I can now get 3-4 rounds a week in. At least I can hit the range a lot more now and just beat some balls if nothing else.

Now, if I could just get these new clubs in my hands without my wife spazzing out on me, Ill be OK. :)

Here's how to get by the wife.....

First time, buy the clubs and take your lumps. Buy a new club or two every so often and build up a small collection. Become what we affectionaltly refer to as a "club Ho".

Once you have a few clubs laying around, slipping in a new set here and there just goes under her radar, get it? :D

There are many experienced club ho's here, we know all the tricks..... LMAO! :D

You have to be careful. Years ago my wife noticed the shaft in my driver was a different color. I told her I painted it different colors to change how it looked.

Don't laugh, it worked.
