Finally!!

I've felt like a 5 year old kid waiting for Christmas. Now they have arrived. The mighty M675s! 2i-PW in all their glory! After my September Ho' on eBay, they finally arrived this morning direct from the US of A. My work colleage eventually made the trip and had them tucked under his arm when I met him this morning.

DG S300s. Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips. After a quick examination I reckon that they are a good 9 out of 10. They have all been hit at least once. I'm off to the range right now to do some damage. WHOOSSHHH! They look like The Cat's Miaow! :)

I'm so excited. Full review to follow.

My god... there is no way I could have waited almost 2 months for shipping. Congrats, you are my new hero, sorry Neal :(

Initial reaction? I went to the range last night (bizzarely with my dad!) to try them out. It's a crappy range with soap balls and uneven mats and it was blustery and damp. I just grabbed a bunch of irons from the car (as it turned out a 2i, 4i, 6i and PW).

First shot was a 6i SHANK!!! Ha!

I then hit about 30 other shots, but because of wind and crappy balls, it was hard to determine ball flight, shape. But they did feel nice and solid. I didn't get the WHOOSHING effect of my first experience with them in the golf store, so I guess I will have to wait to my game this Sunday for a proper review. I also didn't really feel I was swinging it that well last night. But the PW was sweet, hitting some nice knock-downs with it.

Conclusion? The Jury is still out! Ima gonna need some time to dial them in I guess. The Zoids are going to have a lonely Winter!

I got a nice pick-up though. My dad is now "mad about hybrids", so much so he tossed me his 3 wood (Callaway) saying he no longer had need of it. His has Jumbo Ping cord grips on his clubs, hmmmm, nice!

I hit about 6 shots with it and forgot what a nice club it was. Very easy to hit off the mat WhiteTees, it is the original Warbird with a (black) firm shaft in it. It won't shift the Sonartec, but will be a good back-up.

Ha, nice one, Marko lad :) Hope they're "the ones", and that you have many, many good times together :) :)
What range were you at - Roe Park ? I don't think it is that bad, although they could do with extending it length-wise to accomodate the longer hitter more. Cutler, Gifty & myself were blasting them over, or very nearly over the big wall at the back of the range on the day of that Hospice Event. Did I tell you we won a tv/dvd combi that day ?? Sweetness :)

I, too, was filled with excitement today; my Galvin Green items arrived into the shop. Looking good................:beach3:

So anyway...round 1 review of the M675s.

Note to self #1: never try and play with irons first time round in a 40mph wind while playing with a chest infection....

Hit a few shots that sorta got me excited, but was definitely not upto the task on Sunday. No energy levels to be able to tell if these are "the ones". I should have stayed at home, curled up on the couch with a few "Hot Toddies". (Cough, cough, splutter and up pops a green 50p!)

One thing is for sure. If you put a bad swing on any club, it will find a bad result. Sorry MacG, you have lost your "walking on water" status.

Note to self #2: NEVER get involved arranging golf when it comes to women. So anyway, the plan was for Mrs. IG and I to take out her sister and his boyfriend for a round of golf. Great, looking forward to it.

Then at the 11th hour, sister #2 expresses an interest in playing as well. Conversations that followed included "Sure could we not play a 5 ball" and "she'll only want to hit a few shots" and "Are high heels OK?"

We agreed (to disagree) and the ensuing rough saw the BF and I playing a 2 ball, while Mrs. IG and her sisters followed behind only playing 9 holes.

Note to self #3: NEVER give a beginner a go with your driver. I was playing with the future bro-in-law yesterday. He only has a 3 wood, so was looking a shot of my 983K. No worries says I. He gives it the old heave ho, hitting a massive sky and catching it right on the crown, to leave possibly the worst Sky Mark I have ever seen inflicted with one swing of the club. As he's not a golfer he didn't really get the significance. Externally I was Mr. Cool. "Don't worry about it, it's just a scratch". Inside I was screaming in agony"...my poor baby, what has he done to you..."

The thing is i now have 4 or 5 drivers lying in my shed. If I had known I would have chucked him one of them and he could have gone to town on it, no worries.

Anyone any ideas how to fix this? T Cut?

Oh deary me re: the sky-mark, Marko. Did he not see the damage he had caused, or did ya shelter the club from him completely in your gentlemanly way ? Ahh dear, its always the way, eh !?! I'll ring Titleist for you tomorrow if ya want, mate. Is the mark on the top of the clubhead, or on the top of the clubface, or both ? Bad sh1t.

40 mph winds is going a bit OTT on yesterday, don;t you think ?!? :D

Might work IG, failing that Halfords sell 'touch up pens' that are very good for repairing scratches and nicks.

The Launcher Comp has small sky marks inflicted by the future father in law, except he kept asking to use it and I had to let him!

Top of the club head. I tried cleaning it last night. It's not the end of the world but I'd still like to get it sorted.

I'm telling you! 1.15pm standing on the 1st tee of the Riverside, it was howling a gale. Perhaps it was becasue I was under the weather a bit. I hit a good drive and nailed a 3 wood to the front edge on 1.

And I nailed a 4 iron on #4, right over the flag. 155 yards (while you were keeping cosy in the shop!) LOL. I have to admit the wind dropped on the back nine.
