Another wedge bounce question

I'm considering getting new wedges, but I'm pretty unsure of what bounce to go with.

The tendency here is for the sand to be pretty firm due to rainfall (if any of you have played in the pacific northwest - Seattle, we are in the same climate). Our fairways are generally pretty soft. I think I have a fairly steep angle of attack, but don't take huge divots (probably don't quite hit down well enough). I do know that I have a bit of a tendency to clip wedges a bit thin, which makes me think that a high bounce wedge isn't exactly ideal.

My thoughts were something along the line of a 50º or 52º with standard bounce (8 and 10º respectively in the CG10 line) and then low bounce 55 or 56 and 68 or 60º wedges. I was actually thinking 50-reg, 54-LB, 58-LB because my PW is a 46, according to Miz US website.

Thoughts?

Silver, if you haven't looked already, go to www.clevelandgolf.com and check out Wedge Selection System. It explains it as well as anything I've seen.

edit - FWIW since we have the same irons, I have a 51* and 56*. I don't think I'm ready for a 60*.

My 60* and I got a divorce yesterday. That bitch let me down too many times. Went back to the trusty 56* and loved it.

As for bounce, I find that the times you need a bigger bounce club is around the green for nifty shots. Lobs, bumps, sand, it all comes into play. And having that big open face is nice. Just slap that face under the ball and watch it fly and stick.

I have standard on my "fairway" wedges, from 50 yards out. More often than not, you're not in cabbage hitting these clubs. No need for more than standard, in most cases.

Ultimately, you're not gonna find what you need for every single shot. Just keep in mind where you're regularily hitting in and from, and use that as a base. More than likely, a good percentage of your approaches will be from here.

right, that's what I was thinking...most of my shots are from fairway/short rough/wet sand, so I'm thinking low bounce is the way for me

and Dave, I ended up posting this after I read the whole thing on the CG website...it was mildly helpful, but not enough for as "definitive" an answer as I would have liked

and I'm not a fan of higher bounce wedges because I just totally feel like I'm gonna blade them all the time because the leading edge is so high

When I use my 60* from the fairway, I play it off the inside of my right foot to prevent that. Trap the ball (stops you from blading it), creates big spin and usually what I want.

I usually try to do something like that...probably just need more practice though.

I don't generally use my 60º from the fairway though, I'd almost always rather pitch a gap wedge 50 yards like lob a lob wedge the same distance.

My swing is a little steep so a lot of bounce makes me blade shots. I did that all the time with my old clevelands. I use about 6-8 degrees of bounce.

I DO hit my lob wedge from 90 and in from the fairway. 100 in the summer when the swing is good and temp is warm.

Drum roll please......this is my 100th post!

I've decided to go with CG10s in 50, 54, and 58. I just won an auction for a new 54 low bounce for $50 USD.

I love eBay.

Hmm...toying with the idea of a $60+15 shipping Black Pearl 58º.

Seems like a good deal...really. Played one round, supposedly.

Ebay. How great is ebay? I sold a set of callaway big berthas I bought in 1996 for $800 on ebay last year for $715! Then I bought my Hogans for $699! Hmmm sell 8 year old irons, then buy brand new Hogans, then pocked $15? No brainer!
