Any suggestions to get more members.

OK this is a great forum which has the potential to be better then GR, I think we neeed to get the word out. At the minute there isn't enough people online in the past month the most at one time is about 8 members, we are averagering about a new member a week at the minute, and buddha were the heck is he. We need these sort of people around here to kick it into gear.

Does anyone have any siggestions how to get this place into action, sling how about pm some members at GR, everyone one should share any golf news even if it isn't interesting there is so mcuh to talk about.

Well - we would welcome some more members from Northern Ireland and the UK.

What is your plan to provide some new blood from your area?

You play in many tournaments. Any thought on how you can help us get some more participation there? We get great coverage in Canada...

Bring us more Brits.... :ukflag: :ukflag:

Talk hockey, NASCAR, and politics... it worked at the other site... ;)

I think it is difficult to get a new site up and going. You have to have a group of regulars willing to be online and have fun with each other. You have to have a good mix of personalities. I also think you need to not give such a strong 'this is a PC web site' attitude to newbies. I am sure you do not mean this to be a negative but it is to many of the people that would be regular contributors. Not that it is a bad thing (good intention) but it comes off a little... uncomfortable right from the start. I know many think there are cliques at other sites but that is the only way to make it work. The key is for the clique to make new people feel welcome and then once a site is growing it can keep growing and not get stale... difficult juggling act.

You all have a very nice new site here. Give it time and start having a little more fun around here. If you build it... they will come.

Ok lets see bravo, I will try and see if there are any people I can get onto the board I have tried it with a couple of friends before my two playing partners, one who is usually a lot more angry and swares a lot more than me. :wow: And another guy who joined GR put in a username which some of you may of noticed at the time, so I gave him a verbal warnng the next day, I will ask him again.

Goflyers anything works well on that site when i'm not around. I like NASCAR, basketball, politics but don't know enogh about them totalk about them. I could talk football all day but it would be like talking to a wall. Or even wrestling I have a slight interest in that but yet again know on round here likes it.

Goflyers how about getting some DG members over and I will jump on them and see how long they last. :D

PC?

That's funny.

Somewhere, someone made up a moratorium on swearing, I personally never said anything about that. It could be considered too "pc". ;)

I have asked that you keep politics to other sites and I have explained my reasoning behind that. The minute politics is discussed here I either lose respect for some of my members because of some Kook viewpoint they may hold or I lose some of them all together because of some Kook viewpoint that I hold. Lose, lose as far as I am concerned.

I am not at all concerned. The membership is growing slowly but growing it is. :)

So, while I really appreciate the input GF, I think you may be mistaken in a general sense. (Maybe I should put a link to Rush 24/7 on the home page. ;) )

Sling, you have the makings of a very nice web site. I hope this site is successful and becomes better then GR and DG.

My above statements have nothing to do with an opinion. I was being honest as to how I felt when I signed up here and why I have tended to shy away from posting on a more regular bases. The question was asked and I gave an answer. Nothing more.

I do not disagree with why you have the policies that you have. They make perfect sense and will greatly reduce the number of post do to disagreements... all I was saying is I think it is a mistake to emphasize those points right away. I would think if it was more of a regulate as you go thing instead of being in writing and the first thing a newbie is hit with it may help...

Like you said, this site is growing and you are getting the results that you want. So, that is a good thing.

TM, the NASCAR crack was a joke. I am a huge redneck and NASCAR fan but trust me, I am in the minority on that site and I post on the subjects for my own amusement only.

As for you jumping on DG members... TM, that sounds kinda gay, ;) :)

Know the reason why I nevber liked him because he was a ungreatful b@astard and tell him that.

He started threads about how crap the UK was and how expensive it was, it was a crap country etc... That is complete BS he should consider himself lucky he doesn't live in somewhere like africa where theyhave nothing. The UK is a great place and I wouldn't like to live anywhere else at the minute. He also annoys me the way he buys new clubs every week, it is stupid it is his crappy swing which is making him shanking it not the clubs. Tell I said he should save his money on something else. The only person I really like who was a regular was you, and TR23 even though I don't think he is 13 and is a poster at GR under a different name. Think about it I asked him how did you find DG and he says he was searching for forums because he liked golf. Know one could find that forum with out being told about it on GR.

I agree with your point that no one could find that forum unless told about it elsewhere. I know about it and I cannot make it show up in a Google search about golf forums...

As for asking me to deliver messages... that isn't happening. Not my style.

Really master, after grammer and spelling, you have to learn finesse.

Mucking about like the proverbial bull in a china shop just pisses people off.

You were ejected from DG, move on.

The real question is how am I going to increase traffic at my new ferret information, ferret rescue website. This site is fine; I'm the one who needs the help. Geesh...

www.fuzzyfrenzy.com

Everyone go there at least 3 times a day, just so I don't feel as though I'm wasting my time. Thank you and goood day.

PS... As soon as I figure out how to post photos, I will relive my day walking 18 at Motlake in 35 mph gusts today. Any help with photo instructions or back rubs, please feel free.

Wont be near there again, there isn't enough golf talk there.

There are web sites that talk golf? Cool idea... except it may be a little boring after a day or two if that is the only topic... ;)
