I put on the cheapest tires I can find. They last just as long as when I bought the premium tires and they go round and round just like the premium tires.

So that's where you get all the money you spend on new drivers!!!! :>)

Prices at Sears, for 4 tires, 225/45R/17, installed:

Conti DWS: $729.56
Kumho ASX: $511.84

Kumho wins.

What size tires are you getting Doc?

Cost me under $500 to put DWS's on the tiburon...

Plus, ask Ron White what he thinks about Sear's and their tire services...lmao

Size is right there: 225/45R/17; one step up in width from OEM.

I'm sure some people have had bad experiences with Sears; they did a good job on the tires on my Montero Sport. My options for tires around here seem to be limited. PepBoys has only Cooper. Firestone has only Firestone/Bridgestone. Tire Kingdom has Continentals, but not the DW or DWS. Sears has pretty much got them all.

I think the price of tires has gone up in the last few months along with the price of oil. Luckily, I still have a little tread left, so I have some time to look for a deal.

I just got a new battery (Interstate Max-Tron) and brake pads, now tires, next will be the timing belt and maybe shocks/struts. I'm thinking seriously of Megan coilovers......... :wow:

Yeah, i suppose prices have probably gone up.

Any particular reason you're going wider than stock? JW

We have several tire specific places around here...they carry tons of different tires in stock and can order anything that exists through them.

Sears probably just gets a bad rap since they do such a high volume, obviously they're going to put out some bad work...it's just the nature of the business. The percentage is probably pretty small though.

Coilovers would be sweet!
