Hello everybody.. this is my first post on these forums and just wanted to introduce myself and would also like some advice on a good set of irons for a beginner.

I've lurked aorund the forums a little and have read that the Tommy Armour 845s are good. But i have seen a couple differnt types. I see one on ebay which are Tommy Armour 845 Evo V31 s300 Shafts... and i also see Tommy Armour 845 Silverscot, Tommy Armour 845 stripes, etc. what are the differnces? Which one should I go with?

TIA for any responses.

Thanks for the link..

I've only been going to the driving range and hitting with a 5 and 7 iron and i'm only just beginning.. i've had 1 lesson and i'm mostly self taught so god knows how many things i'm doing wrong.. i can usually hit pretty consistently with the 5 and 7 but i've been using the clubs at the driving range which i am sure are horrible.. so i'd like to start settling into my own set of clubs and get used to that and eventually start playing on the course.

I'm gonna take your words on these clubs

:)

Great. These are good clubs and you can sell them on the internet if you want to for some reason in the future.

Get at least three lessons over the next four months spaced a few weeks apart. Commit now to a "lesson series" over that period.

Hit the range with your new clubs and follow the instructors plan. Hit practice balls once a week.

Try to play golf once a week.

Learn the Right way now bc if you get bad habits ingrained into your mind and body - getting them out is terribly difficult.
