I'm a newbie here and had to come out with something to talk about to say high to all so picked this subject.

I have to have a ball that doesn't spin much and the most I'll pay is $20 for a dozen.

I have had the best luck with

Noodle original version (NOT Al Dente or other version)

Old Wilson Ultras (haven't tried the new ones)

Old Pinnacle distance (new Pinnacle "Gold" distance had cover mar on first hits of first two balls used so they are no longer good covers)

Old Titleist HP Distance (have no idea which new ball is similar and probably wouldn't matter since all their balls are so expensive now)

Let me know of any others I should try. Thanks.

    Welcome aboard WBL!

Warbirdlover is an old aquaintance of mine from a flight sim board. I had no idea he was a golf junkie until he posted a "hey I broke 80!" thread on the flight sim board (of all places).

    So I invited him here.

I hope you like it WBL, there's lot's to see.....I am particularly pleased with the photo gallery.

We have people from all over, UK, Canada and the US in particular, the flavor is similar to what you are used to....'cept I don't allow no stinkin' politics (If you can believe that).

    As for the golf ball...........

If I were shooting 79 with noodles, I'd stick with noodles. :D

if you like the noodles stick to them.other similar balls are something like titleist dt solo, nike mojo, callaway i think makes a lower compression ball but im not sure what it is,precept laddie and lady.top flite must make something in that area also but dont know what it is,slazenger money i think might be low compression.

as far as the hp distance it maybe similar to the hvc`s they are making now.hope some of this wisdom (haha) will help you.

Would still like to get a "feel" for what everyone is using. I am always trying new stuff.

    Ok,

I am partial to several low compression balls.

I like the Dunlop LoCo, Slazenger RAW distance, Noodles and Callaway blues.

I also like Precept U-Tri tours and the new Bridgestone tour ball.

The balls I find that I will actually hit back into the woods are Top Flites, Pinnacles and anything that is pink. ;)

Welcome warbid, and I like all the golf balls that slingblade has metioned above cause I like the low compression but I haven't tried the new bridgestone ball though.

Hey, I'm seeing some similarities here. I always hated TopFlight balls. Kind of like hitting a stone. I surely hope no one here plays orange or yellow balls!!

"I'll go with the Pink Lady"

or whatever the best deal at Walmart is........

I just picked up some Callaway HX Reds to try and a coworker just gave me 2 dozen assorted balls he collected at the golf course he works part time for on the grounds crew. Good stuff too, Noodles, assorted Titleist, different Nike's, bunch of Top Flights though. I guess he finds alot since he knows where the good spots are that balls run and hide at.

Hopefully from all that I'll find one I like and try to stick with.

i usualy dont use low compression balls because the first few i hit felt a little squishy off the driver.but i found a noodle last week and played it today and was surprised that it didnt feel like hittin an orange.so now i may have to rethink the whole low compression thing.i also found a brand new nike one gold that i have to try out some time.

Sling, what flightsim do you fly? I am a plane junkie, (mostly WWII). WBL welcome aboard! Is your name due to your love of WWII planes or Callaway Warbird golf balls?:D

    Nevercompromise,

Due to love of WWII fighter planes (never tried Calloway warbirds). My father-in-law (now deceased) flew P-38's in WWII in the pacific for the 67th fighter squadron

And I design planes for Microsoft's cfs2 and fs2002 and fs2004. They're all over the place.

If I wasn't half blind and deaf as a doornail I'd be up flying a plane instead of golfing but I get rides in cool WWII planes once in awhile from people I've met. I've done some interviews with pilots. See www.sim-outhouse.com interview section. Even talked to one of the pilots on the Yamamoto mission.

What is your favorite WWII plane? How many fighters have you ridden in? Bombers?

Has anyone tried the Pinnicle Exception balls? I've heard good things. Just wanted to see if anyone here has had any experience with them.
