Pete's was originally out of San Antonio I believe, as mentioned. This was when they were a Microbrewery still

Although I believe they were bought out and now brewed at the Matt Brewing Company in Utica, NY. Second oldest in the USA next to Yuengling. So now it is available just about anywhere in the States.

WBL, it is definitely one you may like from what you mentioned. Sweeter Malt flavor, not bitter at all IMO. To sweet for my tastes though.

edit 1 - Why does the Pace Picante add all of a sudden come to mind. Get the rope. :)

Been looking for it but haven't found it yet!! :)

It seems to be hard to find. You may have to go to a wine specialist, since a lot of them are stocking specialty beers these days.

Jayhawk is right about it being a maltier beer. It's not sugar-sweet, it's just not bitter and hoppy.

(edit 1) NEW YORK CITY ?!?!

My wife bought these for me yesterday in Bastogne Belgium, on the Battle of the Bulge Tour (I went golfing instead). Pretty cool collectors beers.
