Hey how are you BRUINS fans liking that trade your brain dead GM put together with the San Jose Sharks?
Big Joe goes out west, Sharks are 5-0 since he has been skating with them. Joe has 12 points in 5 games with the Sharks and moves into 2nd in the NHL scoring race.
Man oh man Mike McConnell is looking like a TRUE IDIOT now:biglol: Boston Fans need to protest! But it is too late now. What was McConnell thinking when he put together this trade? Or what was he smoking?

I know one thing for sure, I am just loving the fact that my hometown NHL player was traded to the team I cheer for and is tearing it up!

I wondered about the trade too. Thornton is a young star, but I guess he's been an underachiever throughout his career in Boston.

Nonetheless, as a long time Habs fan, I don't mind this trade at all (so far)

That trade looked like something Bobby Clarke would have done.
Boston had basicly built the team around Thorton and then trade for for next to nothing. It was interesting to see the Bruins beat Ottawa 3-0 after the trade but it still made no sense.

True, but the Sharks are 5-0 since the trade, the Bruins won 2 then lost 2 or 3.
Thornton did not really under achieve in Boston, Boston did not put a supporting cast around him. Boston management never stood up for Joe when the media jumped on him. During the 03/04 playoffs when the Bruins were up 3-0 against the Habs and lost the next 4 Joe was crucified in the media for not having any points in that series. However the media failed to mention that Joe had torn cartlidge on his ribs, he was frozen, doped and taped up during the games. He actually should not have been in the lineup.
Seems funny that now he is with a team with some young players and speed and he is really producing. 12 points in 5 games proves that. CheeChoo is loving having those nice crisp passes put right on the tape.
I honestly think Boston Management will live to regret this trade.
Sharks fans like myself, well we are just loving it! Thanks Boston, you gave all the Sharks Fans a great Christmas gift!

well im a boston fan and when a freind told me about it after work before i could see it for myself i thought he was yanking my chain.

unfortunately he wasnt.im baffeled by the deal as he was the team captain.

how in the hell do you trade away your team captian and what message does this send to the team and its fans.

the message i get is we suck so lets suck worse by trading away 1 of the top players on our team and the nhl that should make us better.(yeah right)

next thing ya know we`ll be sending Sergi Samsonov and Pat. Bergeron to ottowa for 5 beaver tails and a 40 yr old defenseman.that should really help us.

more trades like this and ill have to cancel my center ice package and learn how to follow cricket.

The way the Habs are playing they won't have to worry about the playoffs anyways :(

Damn injuries...

Goat - you like the CI package? I have it and love it... my 2 year old and wife both like watching hockey so that's a big plus. I wish they were also baseball fans ;)

yeah i like the CI package.one reason is its the only way i can see the B`s.

plus i can watch about any game that catches my eye.since i bowl on mon.& thurs.i dont get to watch the B`s that much as it seems 85% of there games are played on those nights.

plus now that Jumbo Joe is a shark i will have to watch a few more of those games as he runs at the scoring tittle.

HAHAHAHA, Hell would freeze over before the SHARKS will trade Joe anywhere! Your teams loss, my teams BIG BIG BIG GAIN! If I was a BRUINS Fan I would boycott any home games to show my protest of having Joe traded. What a joke. You gave up a Porcshe for 3 mopeds!
I talked to Joe's Dad two weeks ago and he told me Joe is loving San Jose, and it shows on the ice.
Again, sorry about your luck there in Boston. Might be time for a new GM? Oh and a Coach too!

The Bruins have not been right since Neely couldn't play anymore and Bourque went to Colorado. Its been hard to be a B's fan for many years now, but at least we were able to celebrate 3 Superbowls and a World Series win since the B's downfall.

I think it is time to trade the front office for a used puck bag and the back up goaltenders jock strap and start over. At least we should get a good draft pick in this year's draft.
