Well by the title you already know I stink at this game. I have been playing for 3 months now. I did take a leason, but can't afford anymore right now.
I get to play about 1 to 2 times a week, and usually only 9 holes. My avarage for 9 holes is low 60's. I did play my first 18 this past weekend and scored a 130.
It seems like I can not have both good driving, and good iron work at the same time.
I love this forum so I will be around a lot. I will try and post pics of the courses I play, and my clubs too.

I'm right there with ya. Played my third round of golf ever last weekend, and shot a 134. Shaved 10 strokes off my first time out. :D

Unfortunately, with the wife and daughter needing my attention, I'll only get to play about twice a month.

I don't think you can be a natural golfer. How in the heck can someone be born with the ability to make that ball go straight. NO WAY!! What hopefully happens is that you learn the game so quickly you just look like a natural:wow:

But if you're like me. . .then you lose your swing at least twice a season and return to swinging like I did when I started 20 years ago. Just keep at it, its the greatest feeling, to hit that ONE good shot in a round.

One of the reasons I keep playing. . .
On Father's Day about 4 yrs ago, which was less than a year since my father's passing; I hit this horrible drive off of #2 and sliced it out in the other fairway. It was a short par4, but I still had 175 yrds to the hole. Pulled my 5 iron, SMACK--nice straight shot. I knew it at least hit the green. So I walk up to the green, walk around the green, 10 minutes I'm looking for the resting spot of this awesome shot I thought I hit. Then a voice in my head says, "Look in the hole fatboy." IT was in. Eagle'd from 175. I'll always remember that shot--that day. . .I think I shot a 97 that day. Even with the Eagle. But still an awesome day

That is a great story. Congrats on the EAGLE. A 97 would be great right now.

Don't worry the big birds will come. Just remember how it felt when you hit it. And try to do that same thing every time you swing the club. Its all memory and consistency. I still shank shots and snap hook them and duffs and blades and all kinds of crazy nasty shots. Just keep swinging

I shot a 106 today my best yet. My putting was pretty bad though, I could have come close to breaking 100 if my short game was better. I do love this game.

Sounds like you had a fun 4 rounds Chris! I need to find people that excited to play with lol!

Earlier this week I went with some work buddies and played 18 for my first outing of the year. Shot a 59 front and a 53 on the back for a total of 112. I was a nervous wreck the first 4 holes until I setted down and played bogey golf for the next 10 holes. The last few holes I got a bit tired, but hey those middle holes got me pumped to go out again asap!
