Is there much difference in club head speed for say a 460 cc driver vs a 400 cc driver considering they have the same shaft and the heads are made of the same material? Anyone know if any tests that have been done? If not what are your opinions.

Interesting question...

If I was to venture a guess, I would say that it would be very slight, almost undetectable. Especially with the same shaft, ect.

Take, for example, the Cobra 460SZ and the 400SZ, both with 60gram shafts. They have the same swingweight, a D2. The larger head must compensate somewhere to have the same headweight as the 400.

Honestly, this seems like splitting hairs. For the amount that is might be different, it's probably not worth mentioning.

Interesting question tho.

rockford is correct. You will see a decrease in speed by it is so slight it won't make a difference.

When titanium first came out there were people who were sure that if you went from a 275 cc to 350cc head that some golfers wouldn't be able to swing it. Boy. were they wrong.
