This one's for the nerds out there....

If you had a choice of adding more RAM or a higher end video card to your system, what would you go with? I've heard varying opinions on either side, just wanted to get some feedback here.

I'm not doing any video editting, but it would be nice to have better than average DVD playback and be able to stitch the odd video together should I ever want to do that. But my main use for this machine is just internet, spreadsheets, databases, ect. I use three or four programs at a time.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

depends how much RAM you have now, what kind of video you have now, how fast your PC is, etc

generally I'd say more RAM - helps with the video editing more than a higher end video card will (I think)

RAM - you should have at least 1GB, preferably 2GB depending on what software you are running. Video cards are for 13 year old gamers.

Ya, the gamer thing and eye don't see eye to eye. I leave that to Playstation, not my home comp.

I'm running a P4 3.0 with 512 currently (just for internet and light work at home, nothing crazy). However, I've been researching a RAM upgrade for my shitty motherboard (stupid dual channel crap RAM) and can get a GB for cheap cheap. However, there are alot of 256MB video cards out there that are cheap too right now.

RAM, eh? I'll take the overwhelming decision into account...cheers...
