Semi frequent, semi annoying issue on my desktop (but not on my laptop). All things being equal, both computers have Firefox, XP Pro and XP Home respectively, no security settings have been changed, etc. Only thing different is that gzip thing on the laptop has been turned off in Firefox.

Anyhow, problem is that when I come back here on my desktop, it'll have logged me out - despite checking "Remember me". This can happen regardless of having used the laptop in the meantime, usually happens after 15 minutes or so of inactivity - hit refresh and I have to log back in.

Thoughts? Just me? Quite possible...

Just thought I'd ask.

I had the same problem.

What I did to remedy it was physically delete all the cookies and temp internet files.

Tool>Internet Options>(under Temp Internet files) Settings>View Files>delete all the files in this folder.

Any other way doesn't do it.

I'm not gonna say this is the fix, but it worked for me. Just nix all those files and then re-log in.

That's what I was using when it happened. Never check in FF.

No problems now tho.

Not sure Sling, never thought to check, I never use IE except for those damn MS sites that only let you use it. My spyware acquisition rate has gone way down as a result, which is quite pleasant.

You can go through and just delete the ones that pertain to this site. Make sure you get all the temp cookies and files, including images, ect. If not, you can still get VB errors, should they occur.

Just FYI.

Because it's strange that a cookie would get corrupted somehow and stop functioning. I guess I find it strange that something that is basically a text file somehow stops functioning.

ok..just deleted any previous shotalk cookies and all is good.:usflag:

Right on, Mav.:)

If the path changes S, it gets lost in the shuffle. Update (by deleting and re-visting the pages) and you're back in bit-ness.
