So I played on Saturday morning. The forecast was bad but clear when we started. It was a bit cold and breezy to begin with but by the 7th the rain came on. I was playing OK, a few poor shots, but I was keen to test drive the new G10. So I thought "keep playing".

One of our group was going quite well. The other 2 guys were playing badly. So after 9 they both decided to quit. At this point the rain was punding down. But I decided to keep going, along with the dude playing OK.

Well my game didn't improve, but check this guy out. He shot 21 points on the back nine in what can only be described as horrendous conditions, off a 12 index. So that was a back nine of 39!! Very impressive considering that 3 of the holes were not reachable in regulation. I hope he wins, but I have a feeling that it will have been abandoned.

Anyway I ended up wet, cold but happy that we finished when most of the others just went in. A certain sense of accomplishment.

And my score? A massive 22 points!!! Makes it even more bittersweet!

Great job. I hate playing in the rain but have found I score good for some odd reason. But we don't have the gale force winds you do. :)

And maybe that G10 contributed to the good round? :D
