Wondering how many here do,
And what was your practice routine or did you find a you tube video in particular that helped
Have been watching videos lol.
I don’t chicken wing,
But I also don’t get that backspin making divot.
In the years past I have a good half dozen instructors, only one I could truly trust.. played senior pga tournaments
Can’t locate him now, forgot the name

I hit down really hard with my irons so my divots are usually pretty big. During practice, keep your divots long, not wide.

I’m going to work on it, but not going to let ruin what I have also ... if possible
Although I’m on and off golf, and hi handicap,
Overall I feel I have a pretty decent smooth swing with no major problems except distance haha

I have a fairly vertical swing with irons and take a pretty big divot. Especially with wedges.

I know I'm not maintaining my spine angle when I start hitting thin shots with irons and when I do that I also don't take divots. Once I focus on maintaining spine angle, right back to it.

If you have a naturally shallow swing, I don't have any idea on how to make it more vertical...or if it's even beneficial. I definitely get a lot of back spin though...so that could be a benefit in certain circumstances.

Maybe a lot of people myself included have the not so bad idea of not chopping up the fairway, so we avoid it

I'm a "picker", not a "digger". If I hit down on the ball, I couldn't get 180 yards our of a bladed wedge!!!

I'm a picker as well, but I can get enough backspin to make it check up as opposed to rolling out.
