Does anyone know if you can bend X-12's?

My friend needs his old Callaway X-12's bent back to spec. I imagine a little bit of loft bending is okay. Unfortunately, I may be searching wrong, I can't find what steel these are made out of.

The Callaway site has everything you'd want to know about the club, except for the steel.

In a search, John Garrity wrote for SI how he went to the Callaway facility and they bent his X-12's 3 degrees up. He's 6'7". They also broke his pitching wedge.

I don't want to break any clubs.

Has anyone bent the X-12's? Or, do you know what steel they're made out of? I think I have a book with that info at home, but not here at work.

I'll be bending them later tonight, so I'll let you know if I don't get it resolved before then.

You have to be extremely careful. The hosel will collapse very easy, we only do it for the pros and even then we don't like to.

You can send them to callaway and they will do it for you.

With the bore thru design, callaway are worse than normal. Pings and dci's and those type can be bent 2 degrees fairly easy but the callaway are tough.

Well, they do bend. LOL! Like you said, with the short hosels, it was tough as hell. Bending them for upright wasn't so bad, but his lofts were f'd up for some reason. So bending them for loft correction was a bear.

His 4-iron AND his 5-iron had a loft of 22 degrees. Not much separation there. He had HUGE gaps throughout his set, then his 9-PW-SW were right on spec from the Callaway website. I really don't know why.

Managed to only snap one shaft. I was trying to bend his 7-iron 1 degree up when the stupid bar slipped. SNAP! I'm not quite ready to start repairs in my "shop" yet (not heat gun, propane torch, shaft extractors) so I took it to Golfsmith and they'd fix it for $35. Seemed fair to me. LOL!

Those SE 600C's bend like butter. The X-12's, you need a TON of strength.
