Well it was supposed to be a quick trip to Golfsmith at lunch yeaterday to pick up some accessories, i. e. replacement spikes, golf cap clip-on ball marker, etc. But that only takes a few minutes so I wandered over to the putting green to check things out. I try out maybe 10 putters as I have been thinking about buying the Odessey Two Ball one. I try it, but it doesn't feel real good. So of course I pick up one of those Scotty Cameron ones and it's nice, but yikes $250!

I keep going and I come upon a Taylor Made Monza. Not only does it look real slick with its red & white design, I'm really liking it. So I do what we've all probably have done, I take three more putts, like 30' footers, and the 1st one goes in! Then the second one goes in too! As third one is on it's way to the hole, I'm thinking no don't go in.........because then I'll have to buy it............and it lips the cup and stops less than 6" away.

Whew! That was close.....

But I bought it any way!

I've never spent $119 for a putter, but since I've gotten rid of my old knock off's, I'm enjoying the game so much more, so it's worth it to me.

Ha! That's how I got the putter I have now. Went into the clubhouse to cool down during a practice session at the range and started taking some practice putts.

Wasn't even looking for putter. I've had it for a year now and still love it so I guess it's ok. Good luck with yours.

That's how I came to own a $400 driver last week. We all do it once in a while.

What the #*!%@

I know the feeling...everytime I think I can't find a putter that makes want to fork over $150-$200, I pick up one at the golf shop and just about hole everything!
Congrats on your "near miss experience"!!!

Try making a living at a golf shop. Every day something comes in that peaks your interest.

After a while I have learned to say no but it is real hard sometimes.

You do know that all practice green areas at places like Golfsmith, Nevada Bob's, golf Galaxy etc. drain to the holes don't you?? It is not a coincidence that we all putt well there.;)
