Sorry to keep asking so many questions but need some more help;

has anyone any experience with the Aldila 65 NV shaft in regular flex?? I have read a few on-line customer reviews of this shaft and the reviews are very mixed.

Help!!

Thanks again.

I have hit the NV, but only in Stiff. I liked it.

Shafts are such a personal thing. If you're considering getting one, your best bet is to go and demo a club that has one in it. That's the best way to tell if it works for you. What might be "the bomb" for someone might end up being "the dud" for you.

A shaft is an integral part of the club, if not the most important. Take a shaft out of a club that you can't hit and put a different one in, and it could be a club you'll never give up. It's just that much of a difference.

Hope this helps. Don't ever be discouraged about asking questions, there are alot of knowledgeable guys on this site that can give good insight into just about anything.

Except Dave. That guy is a jerk. ;)

I wasn't going to bring it up but it's going to be around 80 today with a 0% chance of snow. ;)

Speaking of shafts. I made a quick, (wife was in the car) stop at my favorite golf shop last friday and they confirmed that the new 454 will have a choice of six shafts.

He told me to come back when I had more time and he would have me hit some balls using their launch moniter. The thing is, it's into an indoor net.

Anybody else use a monitor to help choose a shaft? Can it really be accurate enough into a net? I think Callaway is really on to something offering choices and this shop always sells for 10% under Golfsmith so I could be ho'ing soon.

The launch monitor will tell you if you are lagging behind or have a quick shaft. It's good for that. But as for "real world" results, you gotta bang them outside.

Basically, if you can hit 10 shafts, it will tell you the 3 that are best suited for your swing. The other 7 are probably not even borderline, they're just other options that don't match your swing.

You'd be amazed at the number of shafts that don't work for people's swings.

I like the look of the 454. It doesn't look as gargantuan as the other 460 options out there. And for me, the sleeker, the better.

Once you find the right shaft for your driver does that mean that it's more than likely the right shaft for your fairway woods? Maybe in a different weight but would the overall characteristics benefit the other woods as well?

I've read conflicting reports on this. Some say yes, others say no.

Personally, I can't see why it wouldn't be a good thing. I mean, if you have consistently tipped shafts and kept them on down the line, you'd have the exact same feel through all your shafts. That's the very reason why iron shafts are kept consistent through a set.

That being said, many manufacturers have fairway wood specific shafts. And specific shafts for hybrids as well. This to me points to low kick shafts that get the ball into the air better. Personally, I've never had that problem, so a mid kick would do me just fine.

If you're thinking of re-shafting your fairways, I would bet a shiny dime that it wouldn't be a problem keeping them the same as your driver.

The NV shaft is a great shaft. We install about 10 a week. We do 5-10 fuji shafts. If you need a pull out we get them all the time.

I hit a Titleist hybrid with a stiff NV shaft in and didn't get on with it at all. So I went for an S300 instead and now I rip the thing.

Shipping is from Texas I beleive, remember that. And, if it's UPS, you're gonna get raped.

You'd almost be better to buy one from Golfsmith (no offense, OB), as they ship out of Ontario and it's something cheap like 6 bucks for a shaft.

Just FYI.

Being a Canuck can suck sometimes. :(

Don't forget that I live near enough to the border that I can always swing down and pick something up. It's all about price though, price has to be right...and spay and neuter your pets.

The only pull outs I have are .335 tip. I have a NV 75 that would be $30.00 plus shipping.

I only ship USPS priority to canada. It would be about $15.00 and take 3-5 days.
I also mark it as a gift so less duty for you.

Well ob, if you come across a .350, please let me know. I need it for my Launcher 460...I'm simply finding the Graf Blue S to be too stiff for my liking and have hit the NV and found it to be more...responsive.

Stellar.
