Ok I have a TM Burner 420 driver and the taylormade site says the clubhead is 405 cc but why would they name a 405 cc driver a 420 and my old golfsmith catalogues say 420 cc. anyone know???

I would assume the GS catalogue is wrong.

If you check with the Taylor Made site, you'll see this is a common theme with a few drivers (different names than CC's). Perhaps it's just a naming convention where prototype drivers where named the "405, 410, ect". Tour models only perhaps?

It's not uncommon to see.

The 540 and 580 are of course not matching as well.

I was at the shop the other day, they have a non conforming 660CC club there.

It's literally like a paint can attached to a shaft. So intimidating to swing.

It sorta made me sick to look at it. :p

My neighbor....the one who got run over by a boat last weekend, had an old VW rotting in his back yard......I could take the wheels off it and stick a shaft in it's ass end, powder coat it and viola! the next generation driver. ;)

As i read my original post, i quoted 660, not 600 as i should have. The driver is made by Integra golf.

Here's the stock photo, but i'll try and get a pic of something for comparison, like a ball.

I laughed when the 400's came out....now I use one (sigh).

The larger they get I have to believe the torque gets crazy.

Hence the introduction of shafts with low torque for heads larger than 385cc's.

My GBBII is 380 and it's almost too big for me. I had a Hawkeye VFT pro series before this, and a Big Bertha Warbird before that. If the Warbird had the VFT face in it and was made of Ti for swingspeed, i'd use that thing forever. But the GBBII is just the best hitting club i've ever used. That includes anything else i've ever demo'd, hands down.
