Can you practice your driver swing to much? I guess I found some power but lost everything else even the ability to hit the ball.

I tell my son that practice makes perfect but does that include practicing the incorrect things?

    Idk just ranting alittle.

On the driving range, yes. When I did practice, I'd hit a wedge, mid iron, long iron, fairway/hybrid, and driver, no more than 2 buckets of balls.

I prefer practicing sand shots, chipping, and putting.

I have found, over the years, that my best driving happens between beer 2 and beer 4.

At that point I'm loosened up and swinging hard without much in the way of swing thoughts, and I'm not so drunk I don't know where I am anymore.

I keep finding that I go over the top to much and need to work on getting down under it before impact. I can see what I am doing wrong just not correct it so to speak. Its especially bad when I try and add power behind it on the long par 4s and 5s.

I think this is going to help me because now this makes COMPLETE sense to me and give me great visualizations.

For practice I start at the pitching and chipping green, then move to the range and first work on wedges and irons. Then switch to fairway woods, and then a few with the driver. My theory is if my iron swings are sound, that will filter down to the woods, so they are my priority. Of course I will adjust and focus differently if my recent play indicates I need to spend time elsewhere.
