Argh..... I talk up my Dunlop driver alot cause I love it. :groupwave

I was at the range today and the shaft went kablooie......this is the second time I have done this, this year.

I have a game tomorrow, what to do? I am thinking I'll get another LoCo and reshaft the broken one.

I ran out to my local golf goodie store and I'll let the pictures speak for themselves................

I am thinking I break the other one cause it's R flex and I swing for the fences so, since the TM was 1/2 price I grabbed it, lowered the loft (9.5 instead of 10.5) and got a stiff shaft. It felt great at the store, problem is I tee off at 8:00 and can't get any range time so I'll be hitting it cold. I wll also be saying many prayers tonight. :)

OK....about the R580 9.5 degree, stiff shaft.

As I said I hit it 3 times in the store and bought it. The loft is .5 less than my Dunlop and it is 50cc'c smaller.

It is also not near as long.....I figure my better drives were around 275/280 as opposed to 300/310 with the other. It was chilly today so I must take a harder ball into account I suppose.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I think maybe I should have gotten the regular shaft.

Anyhow, I am going to reshaft the Dunlop with an Aldila NVS or something similar in a regular flex within the next couple of weeks and hope to hit it before the snow flies.

Make no mistake, the 580 is a fine club and I'll continue to work with it hoping to get some distance back before I reshaft it as well.

Sorry to hear about the LoCo. That's a big loss. Keep your chin up.

Also, look into the MCS Orange Ice shaft. It's a new shaft put out by Apacheunder the name MCS as a joint venture. I put one in my Nemesis and am in LOVE with it. If you can stand the Harrison color, you'll love the bright orange. :) It plays super, low torque for the bigger LoCo head will work well.

The Aldila I want is a $90 shaft, new layering technology....and it's orange! :)

Not as gawdy as the Harrison but it will do. :D

Why not slam another shaft into the Loco?

Seemed to work before, why not now?

I am.....That's what I have been talking about....the Aldila NVS is going on the Loco. R flex.

No more Harrison's cause I have already broken 2 of them this year, time to try something stronger.

Now that I read your post, i don't know why I thought you were re-shafting your new 580.

Apparently, that degree on my wall was printed on my computer. By someone that knew how to use the printer.

I tried out the GBBII with the NV shaft, never did get the same effect on the ball as far as flight and distance as I did with the Grafalloy Blue. But, to each their own.

Let me know how it goes. Or, don't, cuz i'll probably mistake it for a recipe for cookies or your ant farm is for sale.

Ya, i'm on the ball. :yellow:

I never did update this.

I reshafted the Dunlop in an NV 75 stiff (per professional recommendation) and I am still killing the ball even in cold weather and it is straighter (mostly)

The green shaft is ugly as sin but I think I can live with it.

If your shaft is green, please see a doctor.

Nice setup, by the way.

Yep. A green shaft and an oversized head is serious stuff. But my greatest concern would be the broken shaft that started it all. Does it hurt when you pee? Discharge?

Y'know, it so strange. When I re-shafted my GBBII, i put a Grafalloy Blue stiff in it. A few weeks later, i used a NV Green stiff at the range in a GBBII head. I just couldn't get it dialed.

I did try a Launcher with a NV Green. Now that was a cannon.
