hey its been a long time since i've posted here... Sorry but i've been on the course too much.

Anyhow.. last week was my county varsity golf tournament and on the second day before my round I was on the range, where on the third ball i struck with my driver the crown of the snake eyes viper ti ive been playing (and striping) for 3 years has cracked!! I have been toying with the idea of replacing that club this season so im taking it as a sign from god and looking elsewhere for a replacement.

I've tried the Ping G2 and titleist 905t already and the G2 has a shot at a place in my bag (although it seems to have a bit of a fade bias. anyone else notice it?). i plan to audition the r7 quad and big bertha 454 before i make a final decision.

is my list missing any gems? any comments on my situation? any input at all is very much appreciated.

    Thanks
    -Jeff

Good to have you over here Jeff...

I have a TM R540 which is two years old modelwise. The r7 is a successor - which I recommend you try. I have a friend whose tee game is definitely improved as a result.

The Ping G2 is hot now. And I would take a hard look at the Cleveland Launcher series and the Cobra series as well. Both are big sellers...

    Hey Jeff,

I would also consider the R5 which comes in either a neutral or draw bias. A little less spendy than the R7 as well.

I tried the G2 but didn't like the look at setup. As Bravo mentioned, the Cobra and Launcher should not be overlooked. According to Feherty, you get to eat a banana after you drive the Cobra.

What kind of shaft are you looking at?

There's always the Mizuno MP-001 as well.

Good to have you back Jeff. I've been demoing a bunch of driver's lately and went with the Cobra 460 and NV shaft. Good thing I like bananas I guess.

All the one's that everyone has metioned are good. In particular, the Mizuno 460 was a very close second for me.

They're all so forgiving it's just a matter of finding the one that suits your swing and then matching it up with the right shaft. Happy demoing. :)

    Launcher Ti. NV shaft.

    Go deep.

Great setup. And, as Dave mentioned, I've heard nothing but kudos about the new Mizuno 460, might be worth checking out.
