Dr. Cutter is the local Veterinarian, known for his wry humor. He
surpassed himself one summer day when a city dog was brought to him
after an encounter with a porcupine.

After almost an hour of prying, pulling, cutting and stitching, he
returned the dog to its owner, who asked what she owed.

"Fifteen dollars, Ma'am," he answered.

"Why that's simply outrageous!" she stormed. "That's what's wrong with
you people, you're always trying to over charge summer visitors.
Whatever do you do in the winter, when we're not being gypped here?"

"Raise porcupines, Ma'am."

Thankfully, we don't have porkys down here in the South, but some northern vets have told me that they have taken quills out of the same dog 3 or 4 times. :)

Duh!

Kinda like chasing cars, you would think they have enough brains to learn after catching the first one. A friend I had years ago had a dog that managed to catch 3 cars in the 5 or 6 years I knew him, I wonder how many it caught in the years since.

We have a bunch of porcys out where I live, but for some reason, my dog is smart enough to stay away
