It's actually a 3 to 1 ratio and almost every pro plays to it whether they are fast or slow. No matter what the speed, when tested pros swing 3 counts back, one count to impact.

The guy who wrote the book discovered it by accident and then started testing the swings of different pros to verify it. The other thing that he discovered, as Bravo mentioned is that most amateurs actually swing too slow on their backswing and too fast on their downswing.

What you get with the book is a cd that has different tempo speeds to practice but all in a 3 to 1 ratio. I'm thinking it could take quite a while to become automatic but I'm going to try anyway. 99% of the pros can't be wrong.

You remind me, one of the pro's I know who plays on the Canadian Tour taught me a tempo tip.

Count 1 2 3 4 with a regular interval.

1 you start the backswing
2 you're at the end of the backswing
3 you're at impact
4 you've made the followthrough.

Also, if you want to hit it long, just count a little faster.
But I guess that's a 2:1 tempo right?
Then just count to 5. :)

I basically do that...a 2:1, I think.

I count "1, 2, through!"

1 start
2 top
through - swing through the ball towards the target line

When I remember to count, I'm usually in good shape.

Scoring those games

Well I've seen the score card after doing a match play or a Stableford with presses and two down autos, and let me tell you, I hate trying to score that on a piece of paper. My boss had a great idea about a year ago and he and some others have come up with an way to score these side games with an online mobile website.

The website is called GolfStakes.com, and you can use pretty much any mobile phone. There about a dozen side games right now programmed into the site which means that you can create a golf round, add in your golf buddies, choose any number of side games that you want to play and then all you have to do is score each hole. In the end, everything is scored up for you automatically and you don't have to sit for hours at the pro shop trying to figure out who won what and who owes who. A few other cool things, you can come back later and look at all the rounds that you've played in the past, you can watch a live leader board of each round, things like that.

My boss and his country club have used this site for over a year now to score their league games and it's been pretty successful for them. take a look, it may help you out too.

Oh give me a break. Yes I know the thread is 3 years old. But you know what, it was relevent to the subject.
It may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but until you run it past the admin (Slingblade61) first, don't post links to a product you have a vested interest in.

SPAM is not tolerated here.

My my, tsk tsk....

Wow, not very friendly here now are we. Seems to me that forums give people a way to be awfully rude over the smallest things.

I'm not asking anyone to pay anything, I'm not even asking you to click a link. (Yes I did see that I couldn't post a link until I've had a certain number of posts). I am though throwing the information out there in case anyone really cared to try it. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm sorry you think I'm being unfriendly. I'm simply telling you what the forum rules are. If you think that's rude, then so be it.

"You talkin' to me?"

"Are you talkin' to me?"

"You must be talkin' to me, since I don't see anyone here but us."

What this guy said.

We get a lot of spam. Don't want tobe considered spam? Don't post within the first 100, 15 especially.

If you do, and its a mistake in the end, just chalk it up, drop a couple, and say, oops. Do that, and Eracer will lick you.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've been to other forums for other things, and it always seems like the very first time someone gets into a conversation theyr'e always nailed to the wall because they've said something that the regular members don't care for.

But anyways, I figured for being in the top five of golf forums that this was a pretty active community. I do hope I got the right idea, and this is a friendly forum.
