Whacked my way to a nice 75 today. Stableford points = 34. One bird, four bogeys. Uneventful day.

I still need to learn the putter. It wasn't cooperating again. Bastard.

Driver is pure. Crushing it off the tee.

does that mean you don't want to buy mine now that I bought a Miz 460 8.5 with an NV stiff?

Rock, good shootin'. What's your index, 1?
How about the Mizooonooos? Working well for you?
There was some dude on about losing 10-20 yards off every iron when he switched to blades. How are those things dialing in?

I don't know about Rock's situation (Callaway to traditional blades is a huge difference), but I used to play T-Zoid Pro forged cavity backs and the switch to MP-32 was smooth with no distance loss.

The past week or so I've spent the evenings outside hitting the ball around with my son. Needless to say, I got the Mizuno out and am very impressed. I had forgotten what a good baseball glove that is!

;)

Index? Uh, this year, it's about 40. Too many 3 putts.

I would have to say that I have lost some distance over my X-16's. I'm not a long iron hitter to begin with, but I have noticed some loss. That being said, When you do "pure" one, it goes with considerable authority. My X-16's felt all around decent just about anywhere on the face, where with the blades, you know it immediately if you've left it hanging or hit a draw that will come in too far left. The feedback is amazing.

I will honestly say that my iron game is lacking right now. I need to improve on that. I've been hitting alot of shots thin as of late, not taking turf. This is the #1 problem with all amateur golfers, not taking a proper divot with their irons, and I need to rememdy that. A bit more time at the range will do it, I had the same thing with my X-16's after switching from Big Bertha's and their huge sole.

If I had my putter dialed, or, if i was smart enough to go back to my old White Hot #2, I would save 5-6 strokes a round, easily. But, I'm stubborn. I'm going to experiment with some lead tape on the putter, get a little more weight in the head. I've read that the Tour versions of the two balls have weights added in the bottom of the toe and heel to produce a little more inertia, and get the ball rolling. If I had a complaint so far with it is on long putts I feel as tho the ball skids for the first foot and then starts to roll. I never had that happen with my #2, but I think it's just because I haven't used it much.

I have two Easton baseball gloves. Maybe they'll help with my putting.

Sorry S, I'm gonna have to pass on the Launcher. The GBBII is just outstanding these days. 340 yard par 4 over water, had a 15 yard wedge approach. Money.

It's lines like this that will get you whipped with your own 7 iron. If I ever shoot a 75 I'll find a way to set off fireworks in a thread.

Watch your back anus. :shark:

Just kiddin, good job. :)

Assface.

It all makes sense now. I've been wondering why people have been screaming that at me for years.

Good shooting Rock...a 75 is a fine round for me...wish I could get there but I so rarely put everything together at once.

Which course did you play? Do you have a link for us?

B,

I played the Murray Golf Course. It's owned and run by the City, but it still plays tough and it's not overly busy. Last night it was +26C, and no wind...perfect.

Murray Golf Course

The link sorta sucks, as City run courses don't get huge web exposure. There is a link to the course layout. I have a couple pics of some holes posted in the Gallery...

Does the City sell Annual Memberships where you can play unlimited golf on all its courses for a fixed fee?? Or are you a la carte' every round??

They have all inclusive passes. Allows you to play the two full length 18's (ones a 27 hole offering) as well as the executive course (it only has one short par 5, and about 6 par 3's). It's a good deal, but you have to play a helluva lot of golf to make it worth while. Our season is shorter than everyone thinks it is. I remembering doing the math, you'd have to play 3 rounds a week for all of June, July , August and half of September.

It also gives you priveledge for tee times, into the men's club and a locker. You also get discounts on golf equipment, which is a nice touch, but you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

I play a variety of courses over the summer, otherwise i'd think about that pass.

I just play "pay as you go". I know some guys in the front office, I get good deals. Last night I played Twilight rate, regular is something like 19.50, I paid 10 bucks. 10 Bucks for 18 holes of golf in pristine conditions it outstanding.

Even at 19.50 twilight is a good rate. 10 bucks is basically free - I have friends who spend that on balls in one round.

What time does twilight start?
