Getting on my nerves...

I was playing today at a new course. As I got to the green of the 11th, there were some bunch of golfers on the 17th that were talking loudly. And by loud, I mean yelling swear words, or just plain talking loud, laughing like jackasses.
I said out loud "Silence". I guess they either didn't hear it or they they just didn't care, because they just continued on and on.
It ruined the hole as I 3 putted. But I brushed it off and went on making great shots afterwards.

Anyways, I shouldn't have let those jerks get on my nerves, and the best thing would have been to say nothing.

That happened to me once. Although i didn't 3 putt (sorry to bring that up again ).

I said outloud "Are you guys done?".

It seemed to embarrass them more than anything as there were at least 15 people there watching them make asses of themselves.

But i agree, that's so agravating. I don't even walk by the teebox if there's someone teeing off on another next to where I am. It's just courtesy.

My instant remedy to that type of mindless yapping, is a sharp intake of breath and the loudest ... FORE !!!!!!! that you can muster, they're so busy ducking and diving, that the point of conversation is lost when normality resumes ... remember guys ... take two big breaths

Our neighborhood course is semi-private and so we sometimes get some real jerks. There has been a group of guys coming for the last year that sound just your new friends. You could hear these guys from four holes away and we always knew they were there by the number of beer cans we picked up following them. Once in a while though justice is done. One of them got too drunk one day and tried to pick a fight with one our the board members. Oops! Lifetime ban, problem solved.

My recommendation is to get a caddie that will take their beer and throw it in the lake if they interrupt your backswing.

i had a single two groups ahead of me last week who talked on his cell phone through the entire round. he'd set it down, take a shot, pick it up and continue his conversation. not only was he holding everyone, but he was talking so loud i could hear him talking. and i was in the 2nd group behind him.

Now that's weak.

I would have mentioned something to the marshall or in the clubhouse. That's so wrong. Cell phones have no reason being at the course. That's why you go for chrissakes.

That sucks, Craft. I wish i would have been there, i would have said something.

I'm always curious if people like this are oblivious to those around them or so self important that they just don't care. Either way they have no business being on the course.
