Well, the Two Ball is gone. Gonzo. Au revoir. Ciao.

I gave it two rounds and 3 sessions at the practice green. For some reason, I just couldn't get it dialed in. Like, not even close. And my #2 was working just fine.

Needless to say, when I put it on E-bay, it sold in 2 hours. I'm happy with that. But i'm also somewhat ticked off that I didn't price it higher.

Now, what's next....lol

Ha!

I also divorced my 2 ball yesterday.

I have gone back to the classics.

Ladies and gentlemen, please give this fine implement a warm welcome to my bag. :)

Also, hear my vow.....

This will be the last putter to enter my bag for a very long time. I'm all done with putter hoing, I'm all done with putters that look like space weaponry.

I'm going to use this one to great effect or take up needlepoint!

How long till a Doc 15 is in your bag?

I say by July.....lol.

I can't say that I am disappointed in the Two Ball, it just didn't work like it had in the showroom for me. And when it comes to draining putts, you gotta use whatever works, not what looks good.

I can honestly say that my hoing is done for this year.

Maybe a set of irons....cripes, what's wrong with me! :p

FUNNY!! You have confirmed my belief that the Two-Ball is not as great as everybody makes it out to be. I'm going to be trying out the PING G2 Anser that Sling pictured.

Allow me to go on record and say I made sweet, sweet love to my White Steel two ball yesterday. That baby is crazy forgiving.

Ya, it's strange. I hole EVERYTHING I hit with it at the shop. And no, it's not just being at the shop. I'm no where near as accurate with anything else.

I still recommend the Two Ball. I think what it is is the missing weight. It's very light. And Buddha has made a good point (sort of), that the Steel version has a heavier head weight. It needs some weight, it's very light, contrary to the "bulk" that is portrays. The Tour version of the Two Ball is much heavier, which I beleive would translate into better feel. There are two cavities on the underside of the putter that are filled in with weight on the Tour version.

I toyed with the idea of trying some lead tape, but decided to let it go to another person that might enjoy it more.

One more experiment down the drain.

All that aside, thanks again Patlawman, at least for the opportunity! :)

Cheers!

And he finally comes to his senses... all my griping paid off.

Get yourself a Never Compromise Tour milled if you want a nice tour weighted putter. I went the lead tape route on my Anser and think it's great!

Oh, your still a ho, no doubt about that. ;)

I've decided that while other clubs can come and go, the putter is the one club you have to develop a relationship with. I've had mine close to year now and I'm starting to see some real consistancy with it. I don't even think about distance anymore because I'm so use to the feel.

To bad the rest of my game sucks toilet.

I made the right choice. I putted better than I have all year last night with the trusty #2.

This is my putter until someone steals it or it explodes. And, after that happens, i'll buy a used one.

I've spent far more money on clubs than I've had any right to, but only once have ever spent more than $120 on a putter. About 7 years ago, I found an old, used, beat up, and ugly Top Flite putter at a driving range for about $8. The day before, one of the guys I was playing with somehow managed to run over my putter with his golf cart so I needed a new one.

I had that ugly Top Flite for five years and it was great. I don't know why, but I really liked it. Then one day at a local muni I set my bag in the cart and went into the clubhouse to get something to drink before going out to play. After my requisite double digit amount of shots it takes me to get to the first green I discovered my putter was gone. So I went back to look in my vehicle to see if I'd left it there. No dice. Someone had stolen my beloved $8 dollar piece of crap on the end of a stick. Also, I'm left handed and play left handed. So it's mysterious as to why someone would bother to steal the thing.

So I ventured to Golf Smith the next day in order to acquire an up to date, modern techological marvel made of materials that can only found in a golf shop or protecting the space shuttle from burning up on re-entry. I walked out $120 lighter with a Ping Isopure that was sure to improve my game. I've had it ever since and I hate it. For a thing that supposedly has a sweet spot big enough to rival the red spot on Jupiter I somehow manage to never hit it.

I long for my old Top Flite that looked like it was melted down from brass lamp bought at a yard sale. I hope the guy that stole it is happy with it. Well, happy as in happy that my complete lack of golf ability rubbed into that putter in a kharmic sort of way and totally destroyed his game.

The double-digit shots probably clouded your memory, blanking out the "If I don't sink 3 20 ft putts in a row, you can shove this putter up my..." moment. Happens to the best of us. I lost an entire set of Titleist blades that way once.

I'm sure the #2 will work for a while, but when you get serious, you're gonna want one of these. :p
