I personally buy full leather gloves. I find the sythetics aren't as good. But that's just me. Go try a few on as different manufacturers have different fits.

As for grips, if you're playing alot where it's humid, I find soft cord grips are great for that. They add just that little bit of extra tackiness to hold onto the club. If it's dry where you are, just about anything will work just fine.

A word of advice tho. Good grips are worth their weight in gold. And worn grips will adversely affect your game. For a 40 dollar investment, you can easily re-grip a set of clubs and it will pay itself back to you with better shots.

Try heading to a shop and trying a few grips. Most manufacturers have something close and comparable to any OEM grip. Try a few out and make sure that it fits well in your hands. I have relatively small hands, so I use just regular grips. But they do make smaller diameter grips for smaller hands and ladies. They also have larger grips should you have big, huge meat hooks for appendages. :)

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, fire away!

I agree with Rock on all accounts (except that I hate cord grips, even the soft ones, I have nice soft hands and the ladies appreciate that). Here's a tip for gloves right now (I just got home and this email was waiting for me)

www.rockbottomgolf.com - they have Wilson gloves (mens and womens) on sale for like...5 or 6 bones.

Must be all that hand lotion. ;)

Another thing that go in my head was corded grips and their wear on gloves. Some of the new velvet cord grips are very soft. Callaway wedges come with an almost inbetween cord. Not hard and not soft. It's barely imbedded in the grip, but it does work for better grip.

But, as Silver pointed out, grips are entirely a personal thing. What works for one won't work for others.

Try a few out and then pick the one you like the best.

I don't wear gloves. You get more feel. Just don't grip it so tightly.

You can never go wrong with footjoys. Interestingly enough ping makes decnt gloves as well. It's hwta i'm, using currently. As for grips, golfpride softies are great like a winn grip. I have an oversized one (meathooks rock meathooks) on my driver.

Yes. Cord grips suck. I don't wear gloves at all. Sad thing a friend gave me a CASE of footjoy gloves that I won't ever use.

I am sorry people were offended. I work at the company but as an assistant/receptionist. I just moved to Arizona and wanted to start playing, since everywhere you look there is a golf course and the weather is great. Again, I wasn't aware you had to post your affiliation with a co. if it had anything to do with sports, this i my first time on forums other than those for music. Again, I won't post again because people seemed bothered and I do sincerely apologize.

You are welcome here april, whether you are affiliated with a golve co or not. Don't let sling get you down; he calls me a dirty girl all the time, but those stories are better left untold. If you market research, we'll try to ablige. If you want to learn golf, we may be able to help. If you want to send me a case of your gloves to test, I'll be happy to. IM me and I'll send my addres. ;)
