Event Notes

Down to Two: Kenny Perry and Bernhard Langer are the only players in the field of 30 with a mathematical chance of winning the Charles Schwab Cup points race, with Perry leading Langer by 612 points entering the week. Langer needs to win this week and have Perry finish in a two-way tie for 5th or worse to win the overall Charles Schwab Cup, otherwise Perry will win the Cup.

Major Setting: Unlike most Champions Tour non-major events, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship will be played in a 72-hole format instead of the typical 54-hole event.

Double Points: Just like major championships on the Champions Tour, the Charles Schwab Cup points are doubled this week with players earning two points for every $1,000 earned (only top-10 finishers could earn points in events during the regular season).

Headlining the Field: Kenny Perry, Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Tom Lehman, Michael Allen, Rocco Mediate, Fred Funk, John Cook, Russ Cochran, Mark Calcavecchia, David Frost and Corey Pavin.
