I was paired with an Asian couple on Saturday. They were both pretty good - but she was so consistent - hitting the ball straight and solid on every shot. I kept having to say "nice shot" every swing. It was getting monotonous doing that, So along about the 12th hole, I said to the man, I've written a computer program for use when playing golf with your wife, to save me some effort.
He inquired what I was talking about.
I told him the program was a "DO UNTIL loop" and it runs like this:
DO UNTIL END OF ROUND
IF (JANET HAS TAKEN A STROKE) THEN
I SAY "NICE SHOT JANET"
END IF
LOOP
So the guy took a minute and then started laughing.
Then he explained it to Janet in their own language and she started laughing aloud as well. (Then she hit a nice shot).
That's about it.
For my own playing you can substitute my name for Janet and "bad shot" for "nice shot".
