I've been to a lot of countries and liked them all, nice people in most of them. However, and I have not been to any as great as Canada.

The last two times I went to Montreal and Toronto...I had a blast. Both really fun cities....I would like to try out Nova Scotia as well as the Vancouver area too.

And Rock...perhaps a visit to the Great Canadian Prarie would top it all....

Bravo,

I'm from Montreal and yes it a great party city, the best in the summer time with all the festivals.

Nova Scotia is a beautiful province that usually gets a bad name that it doesn't deserve. However, I have played some of the nicest golf courses ever there, and the people are so warm and welcoming. The West Cost of Canada is beautiful also and they are welcoming as well but it is very expensive to go there. I’ve gone for business a lot and with my wife once. However, I wouldn't be able to afford a golf or family vacation there. Too bad for me. Try the Golf Courses in Quebec there are a lot of beautiful course.

This is news to me?!?!

I've been living in the US for 4+ years now, so maybe I've missed something. Please fill me in, I'm curious.

I've been to a few "summer festivals" in Mtl :)

Most involve Ste Catherine Street, a bachelor party and an empty wallet that some "entertainers" managed to clean out.

Is it really that expensive to vacation here in BC? I've never noticed, as I live here, but I've always figured there's been very reasonable rates. We recently did a spanky golf weekend to Kelowna (in the Okanagan - interior of BC) with two EXPENSIVE rounds (really nice courses) for less than $500 CAD.

You can play golf in Vancouver for less than $50 CAD a round at very high quality courses.

Nova Scotia sometimes gets the reputation of just being a fishing town where everyone goes on Unemployment after the season is over. That is so far from the truth. It's alive and growing city with High tech businesses and great people.

Back in 1997 we had a really bad Ice Storm where parts of Montreal did not see power for over 14 days. Being Quebec we effected a lot of the eastern sea board. We had electrician crews from as far as North Carolina. Well the first place that got power was as you say it" the enterainers". They had power withing a couple of hours.....LOL The electrical crew from across Canada and the US that were in town would do a 14 to 16 hour shift and then go straight there to eat and drink( you can get real food there too[no fish!!]) until there shift started again. It was the only business in Montreal to hit record numbers in profit during that period.

The festival in the summer time include
Formula 1 racing http://grandprix.ca/site.php
Firework Festival http://www.montreal-fireworks.com/schedule.html
Jazz Festival http://www.montrealjazzfest.com
Comedy Festival www.hahaha.com
And the little festival inbetween like the beer festival ( Important to me)
