After playing pretty poor in the club championship I got pissed off with golf and said I was takign a break that was on the 24th of september and I haven't played since, and to be honest I cant be movtivated now, there's not much too play for at this time off year, I'm just hangin out with freinds more, and basically lost the love I had for the game before the club championship, my parents are like why aren't you at the golf course every day and stuff...

I need to get the love back.

Anyone else ever gone off the game...

Hey it's da Master!

How's it hangin'? What are you up to these days (beside hanging out with your pals)? We need to know...what happened in the Club Championship? Still at school? How did the exams go?

It's coming up to Christmas, do I have to go out and buy my family a turkey? Or are you gonna finally come clean with the fowl.

By the way I'm up for a rematch. Some Sunday?

Hey TM....I am in the same boat with you.

Events have transpired to keep me away from the game for about six weeks. I have not played with my weekly group since August - except for a round with a woman who beat me by 9 strokes at the beach a couple of weeks back.

Much traveling all over the U.S. from Southern California to Miami to Las Vegas.

I'm gonna make up for lost time this month though. It's a great time to play golf...

As IG asked- how did school come out for you? Report please. Shake off the tourney and get back out there and keep at it...nobody's game ever stays in form all the time...

All is good, well it was widny and rainy during the club champ in the 1st round I shot 79 and was 6 back, but the 2nd roudn was bad on the twelth I pulled it but didn't realise it had gone OB but I didn't bother going back to hit another because I wasn't playing well so NR.

Exams were satisfactory mainly B's and C's. Yea I'm doing A levels now at school, I.C.T, business studies and maths.

No, the turkey will be with you soon, also I'm learning to drive at the minute so wont be long until I can drive up myself. But yes some Sunday in the upcomming weeks will be good we need to get some pre-match banter going first though. I would like to re-turn to the port to see what sort of condition it is in.

Anyway enough about me, how are you doing, hows the golf, hows the family? Any news...?

Work sounds great, how is it travelling over the countyr must be fun some parts of it? Seeing new sites etc... Hows the family...

Yea your rite im off this week im going to play tommorow to break the ice.

The weather has been pretty miserable over this part of the world, but hopefully it will improve, torrential rain for days now, the streets are flooded.

Anyway I'm back here for the winter can't wait to join back into the discussion.

I'm with you TM and B.

My last full round was October 2nd in the final tournament of my series for the year, in which I did well and achieved placement of 4th overall for the season. However, it's been terribly rainy through October and November doesn't look much better.

Also, for me, the biggest thing is that I barely passed/nearly failed one of my first year classes last year because I played excessively during school and missed class, so this year I'm trying to make up for that by actually putting in some effort and hopefully getting some good marks or my job prospects will be less than dismal (as they currently are). If I can turn things around, I'll actually have some decent chances at good jobs.

I thought about going to practice at the indoor place today, spank it around a bit, but the drive isn't there. I'm losing the drive for school, too. It's a dreary time of year where it's hard to get much motivation going for anything.

Sounds good GM.

This month isn't great as I'm busy with school, but comming up to the festive season would be fantastic, if it doesn't suit then hopefully I can still make it.

Oh and IG I don't no how I will be playing my golf is non-excistant at this present time.

TM:

Business travel is always kind of a two-edged sword...there is really not much fun in it because you are working at least 8 hours a day while you are there...on the other hand, there are some beautiful places you can see in the evening...

Laguna Beach California has mountains and hillsides that come right down to the ocean...my wife went with me on this trip and we really had some fun. Last week I was in Vegas for five days. Although I have been there about 20 times, I never took any time to see the desert and the Hoover Dam which is pretty breathtaking...so one day I took off at 3:00 and did both. It was great...the desert can be incredibly beautiful in its own way...

Silver: Bear down on the books man!! Around here grades are everything in terms of which firm will hire you...it's too bad because I definitely see fine lawyers who may not have had the best grades but once they got into the profession - they were naturals for it. It just took them longer to become successful because they started a few rungs down the ladder...the golf will come later in big bunches after you get rich and famous...

That's the plan, B.

I took an hour out to go hit some balls at the indoor place. I kid you not, the videos of my swing were as good as they've ever been. Great plane, stability, contact, and weight transfer.

Time off seems to have done me well.

Master, I was there once at your age. I just got burnt out. Take some time to have fun and enjoy your time growing up. However, if you want golf to be your life when you get older and you have teh opportunity to play professionally, just play thru it. Just gotta make yourself get to the course. Work on the part of your game thats fun. Make up some golf games and create goals for yourself. I gave up my practice time when I turned 16 for cars and girls. Looking back, cars and girls would have been there when I got off the golf course. Oh well, hind sight is 20/20.

Best advice is do what makes you happy. But when it comes to golf brother, you can play your entire life. Thats the beauty about this sport! :usflag:
