Here we have IG, on a rare visit to the beach, executing a perfect recovery. You can see the ball heading straight for the pin.

One thing that makes IG a genius is his recovery ability. Whenever he was in trouble, he'd get out of it expertly. Recovery shots from bunkers or from in the trees...no problem for the lad.

Two holes summed it up for me - the 17th and 18th in the morning. On the 17th, he drove into trouble on the left, in the middle of some trees. Recovery shot, from about 200 yards...popped onto the green, 2 putt par, no worries.

On the 18th, he drove into a bunker. Maybe 130 yards, ball pitched onto the green...2 putt par, thanks very much.

It's that ability to recover that seperates good players from the common herd. The lad is class.

Fancy a job in PR?

Err, you forgot about the 10 yard duff from under the trees on 7 and the 5 yard duff from the trap on 10. I wasn't that good.

You're right, I still don't remember them...!

You shot in the 70's both times, I think, on fairly hard, unfamiliar courses after getting up at 4am and driving for three hours...despite your phone going off every 5 mins!

You done good.
