And now the truth begins to surface...

Well, let's start with the truth and follow it with a bit of poetic licence...!

Truth is, the two Irish lads are amongst the best blokes you could hope to share a golf day with. Many thanks to them for organising another great day in the Emerald Isle. Thanks to IG for the Bushmills (which Mrs Arab damn well left back in the UK, removing it from her case then saying "oh sorry, I forgot to put it back..") and thanks to Dave for spreading his wealth and forking out for the food during the day. The lobster thermidor was great, and the foie gras wasn't bad either.

Now...the 1/2 truths...

Here's a photo of IG and Dave in the trees together. Following my lead, they both sliced into the woods. Personally, I think it was an excuse. IG was looking for a bush and Dave for his woolly friends.

Here is IG's recovery shot from behind the tree.

As you can see, he played an airshot with his first attempt. Meant he was playing three with his next one. However, the swine played a perfect 220 yard fade...under the tree...over a bunker...onto the green and a one-putt par. The guy's a genius.

What a pretty picture. :)

Do you guys own oil wells? I can barely afford to play at the muni!

Ha!

To be honest, it wasn't bad. It was a cracking 36-hole set-up. two superb parkland courses (more photos to come) and it was, I think, 80 Euros for the 36 holes. That's less than $100 for the day - I dont think that's bad given the courses, the facilities and the special occasion. And the fact Dave kindly stumped up for the grub!

Actually, think he had a curry.

He soon found out that was a bad idea while wearing those white breeks.

Ha, best laugh so far this morning. I am so out of shape it is scary!!

As for ths Oil Well reference, I thought this was good value. I cannot think of playing anywhere better for that money. A few courses in the North would be charging £40 ($70) for a single round. We got 36 over 2 very good courses for £55 ($100).

I wouldn't pay that everyday but as KA said this was a special occasion. :beach3:

That doesn't sound too bad. My course charges $25 for 18 & a cart after 1PM on the weekends. That's about all I can afford.

It's the getting to Ireland part that's expensive!
