I am looking for a new set of irons. My dad found some Tommy Armour 845u's From one of his buddies. I played them for a few rounds, they were alright, nothin special. I recently went to the driving range and saw a set of Cleveland Ta5's for $173 used . Will someone please give me an honest review and if someone knows, will you please tell me of any design flaws-problems with thoes Armours, they seem kinda cheap.

Armours have always been a decent setup. For the price, and if your pops is just a weekend warrior, no worries.

The thing with golf is that it's such a personal game. It would be best if he could go out and hammer away with a set before buying. So, I guess in your situation you have to sort of accept the fate that you get.

There won't be anything wrong with the irons, but your dad may need some time to get used to them.

Personally, I think the Cleveland's would be better (yes, Gun, i know). They have a better feel off the face and are a little bit more regarded as a better iron over the Armours that you spoke of.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps.

The TA5's are great try them out. Nothing realy wrong with tommy's though. Clevelan is definatly beetter quality however.

Tommy's are great. It's not because it's cheap, that it sucks, on the contrary...
