I don't know how many there are like me who don't get a chance to get to a range and practice their swing and ball striking regularly. I guess there are probably a few that come into this category.
What I would like to work on is practice routines to work on at home.

What drills have you guys got that you work on at home?

I do tend to work on chipping as much as possible because its one of the only things I can achieve in limited space!

But ball striking is the one thing I really want to work on with my irons as its the most inconsistent part of my game at present (If I'm striking well then I'm hitting around the 80 mark if I'm not I can be as high as 110)!
Are airflow balls a good idea? Will they really show up flaws in your swing with their flight path!

I have a momentus club and have tried it a few times but am a little wary as it has lead to poorer striking in the rounds after it. I'm in two minds to keep on with it or to ditch it!

Any help guys would be much appreciated.
I'm hoping everyone can get some ideas off of this thread.

I have tried pretty much every drill there has ever been in my 18 years of golfing (See Leslie Nielsen's "Bad Golf Made Easier" for a few laughable examples). In that time I have found one from Nick Faldo's first instructional video that is superb and very simple. Quite simply you take your set up without a balland before you take your back swing just move the club head a couple of feet forward, then in one continuous movement let it fall back to the start point then continue into your full swing.

The timing that this develops has doubled the number of greens and fairways that I hit. I even find that I am able to churn out an extra few yards when required due to the confidence that I have in the accuracy of the plane of my swing. Using your "Momentus" club to practice this drill may even make it more effective in creating the desired muscle memory. Don't start with a ball straight away though! Wait until you feel comfortable enough to swing by just envisaging the initial forward movement before doing your swing.

I hope I haven't bored you to death with my reply as it is a bit long winded, but the method I have described has done wonders for me.

Thanks English,

That is actually one of the drills that comes with the momentus club. So i guess i will stick with that one. Hopefully the negative results i have got so far are because i am changing my swing path! As i know i am likely to go over the top and start casting which causes my sometimes huge slice!

This drill has long been taught and used by our Golf Director. I played a round with him last year and he uses it before virtually every tee shot and most long approaches personally...

What I forgot to say was that you need to have a very good set up for this to work, otherwise you will just engrain a bad plane into your muscle memory. A short video session should sort that out.
