I go back and forth between hybrids and fairway woods. Found some great hybrids in the TE JMAX Bazooka Tour hybrids and had a 3 and 4 in my bag for most of the year until I found a TE JMAX Bazooka Carbon 7W. 3H out. Got the Eye 2+'s and could hit the 4 iron consistently so 4H out for now.

Best Hybrids I have hit consistently are the TE's and some Snake Eye Quick Strike Tours. Like Rory said, hit them like a 5 iron and they will work as designed. The only reason I am hybridless right now are design of the Bazooka Carbon fairways and the Eye 2+'s. The Carbon have the best head design for getting out of just about any lie. Most hybrids do not have the heel/toe relief that the Carbons have which allows me greater flexibility and creativity. If I could find a suitable hybrid with the same relief and playability of the Carbons at a good value price, I would probably give them a shot.

I'm convinced I'm just always going to have trouble finding a good club for 200-215. Tried a few hybrids and had good results sometimes and huge hooks on others. If I could find something 22* that wasn't such high spin and left biased I'd try it. I'm actually looking at a 21* Sonartec head and if I get it I'll have a Nippon steel like my irons put in it. Even hitting them well I've always hit 21* hybrids too long for the yardage I need. I still end up with a gap from 190-210. 3iron fits it, maybe I should just improve the swing to hit it better.

I picked up a mint 21* Md from GlobalGolf at the beginning of December and actually discussed ordering a Nippon 1050 shaft for it this afternoon at my local shop.

I have a 3 wood in my bag, and then I go to the 3 iron. There isn't much of a gap because 1) the irons are all 1.5 inches longer than standard and 2) I'm more aggressive with an iron shot, anyway. Whenever someone his a hybrid and makes a good shot, I'm left wondering out loud how they manage to make decent contact at all. I've demo'd dozens of hybrids recently, and can't hit a single one worth a damn. I usually hit a weak push with them that travels about 160 yards, or I'll top the ball together. I swear, I shanked a hybrid once...:laugh::laugh:

Call up Ken from VictoryCustomGolf. He's got them and would put it together for cheap. I'm very impressed with the clubs he did for me and the effort he put into them. He actually put the 5W together and hit it on the lauch monitor, thought the numbers were not good enough, rechecked the CPM's and pulled it out and tipped it to make up for the weight of the head affecting the shaft flex. The result? I have a 5W that feels exactly like hitting any one of my irons. I'd like to try the same with a hybrid, maybe keep both the hybrid and the 3i for different courses or whatever.

That's some pretty sweet service!

I have a couple of local guys that I completely trust and I try to spend locally, at non-box stores, as much as possible.

I know its been said a couple times but its very true, you have to focus yourself to take an "iron" swing with something that looks like a wood.

I think 99% of people that cant hit hybrids are "feel" players and when they see a "wood" they take their "wood swing" and this just doesnt work with hybrids...
