This is totally weird....I am in a different space and time.

My household is always noisy. Two kids and a wife, three laborador retrievers and a guinea pig. And as most of you know, my youngest is Autistic so this brings many additional sources of noise and "stimulation" into my world.

Yesterday - all of them went out of town for four days. I am here - all alone.

My wife leaves 2-3 TV's on all day. I have left them off.

She left the house in a shambles - as is the case usually. Frankly the woman could care less about housework - all she does is watch TV. So, today - between emails and phone calls - I did five loads of laundry and tidied the kitchen.

The place is looking more livable already.

I am thinking about going to play golf - right now. It's 5:00 and if I teed off - I could finish by dark.

This is truly very strange. It's so quiet.

I think I could learn to really like this. Alone.

    Cool.

It isn't dark here until 9.45 pm it is sweet these days. And we are going to have a heat wave this summer.

Bravo, I didn't go to play Sunday until 5:00 and got in 27 holes by 8:15. Your course is probably empty go have some fun.

So how many days do you have left to get all the locks changed?

I always like to tell my friends that if I had killed my wife the first time I thought about it...........

I'd be out of jail by now. :biglol:

it is difficult for me to imagine my married life like that, I guess at 23 I am still too young and too idealistic about it

    As does she, bud. ;)

I found a receipt under my pillow from "Guido's Hits for Missus." Should I be worried?

Their motto is, "We plug 'em, you plant 'em."

Breaks are always nice. But the bedlam has a purpose.

"The thing is, nobody ever said life was supposed to be fun. At least, no one ever said it to me."

Great post...when I came back from the course, I read Sling's post and did a quick reply before picking up some Chinese food from my loca China Doll. (More about this later).

I arrived at 5:30 and decided to walk and play two balls - and count them both as legitimate scores. I have done this within twosomes/twoballs before. You hit two balls (track which one you played first/second) and play them both all the way through until in the hole...

I had a Titleist Pro-V1 and a Precept U-Tri Tour. It was Precept vs Titleist on the scorecard....

It was a back and forth battle on the front - with both balls finishing +4 as Titleist made a brilliant birdie on the 9th to pull even. I turned the front side in a smooth 90 minutes - walking/carrying and playing two.

On the back, I started well, but it became apparent that I was running out of daylight. I would have been OK if it were not for a rainshower that came up while i was on 16. With showers and light falling fast, I ran for the cartbarn and got a cart for the final two...

I only played my second ball on the last two holes and finished with an 82 with it... I had a great time. Alone - truly - on the course....

Nice recap of the round - i like the idea of playing two balls against each other..!

Can't remember the last time I managed to play 18 by myself...but when it happens i like the 2-ball concept.

Do you find yourself favouring one ball over the other? Or taking riskier shots with one because you've played a good shot with the other?

I usually just play them where they lie and use the same strategy with both. This is the 3rd time I have played the 2 ball game this year - both other times I was with another player. In each case - I came in with scores that were within two strokes of each other and very close to my handicap.

After reading your original post I decided to go out after dinner and hit a few myself. It's amazing how empty the course is in the early evening.

I didn't get out until after 7:00 and so only got to play 14 holes but it was still nice and very quiet. With two of my normal group out of town till this weekend, this was the second time in three days I've played by myself and I'm starting to like it.

When the course is empty like last night I can play 9 holes in about an hour. :)
