They just announced a new rule.

NEW RULE

While the MGA enjoys tradition, it also values change and progress. And we know a good idea when we hear it. That’s why when Columbus MGA’s Chapter Leader Jason Strickland suggested we institute a rule that rewards the person with the HIGHEST gross score at each event, we were all for it. So here you go, we’re proud to present the only new rule for 2016.

2.5 KEY TO THE RED TEE - The player with the highest gross score from each event will unlock the following award. At the next event they play, they are allowed to play from one set of tees further forward than everyone else. If they shoot the highest gross score AGAIN from those tees, they can move forward another set at the next event. If they do not shoot the highest gross score while playing forward tees, they will return to the normal tees and pass the key on to its new "winner".

2.5.1 This rule is up to the awarded player. If a players ego won’t let them move forward, they are welcome to stay at the normal tees with everyone else and shoot another 147 from there.
I need to play golf with you guys.....

They already have a rule that if you win a tournament the next one you have to hit from the next tees back if available.

Have played in a couple of scrambles where... birdie or better, your group plays the next hole from the back tees... par, your group plays the next hole from the middle tees... bogey or worse, your group plays the next hole from the forward tees. That keeps a group of drunk, studly-hungwells from holding up the course as bad when they insist on hitting 4 slices, 3 tops, and 1 whiff from the back tees.

First tournament is this Sunday. Can't wait.

Phoenix Rebel Beach Am-Am

The Am-Am is a two-man team event. The team with the lowest total score will win the two-headed trophies, featuring one head focusing on a putt, while the other chugs a beer. The money prizes will still be awarded based on individual scoring in the tournament, so the overall winner will receive the big check. The last thing any medio wants to do is ruin his friend’s entire season, and perhaps his chance at the World Title, with his terrible play.
