What's the best _____ out there? Base your answers on looks, personal taste, experience or not, a wantoness to play something you can't. Whatever the reason, give an answer to the following:

Driver?

Fairway woods?

Irons?

Putter?

Wedge set?

Ball?

Everyone's got a wish list. Let's hear them considering it's about mid season.

Driver: R7, still yet to hit it, but isn't like 40 % of the tour using one?

Fairway Wood: once i get the right shaft, TM V-Steel, when i get one right with this bad shaft it just goes

Hybrid/Utility: isn't one, they all suck, kind of an easy way out of long irons or fairway woods

Irons: Cleveland CG1 anything look prettier in a bag?

Wedges: Cleveland CG10, heard nothing but great things about them, yet to hit them

Putter: Odyssey White Steel 2 ball, thing is straight up sweet

Ball: I've never jumped on the ProV1 train, put me down for the U-tri tour

Driver - I'll go with what I know and say Cleveland Launcher 460 - possibly the Comp, but the regular has a much nicer sound than that dull thud of composite clubs

Fairway - I yearn to try a Sonartec or maybe a Miz MP series 3 wood

Hybrid - I like my Nickent Genex 3DX, but I'm looking at replacing my 7 Wood with Miz FliHi if I like it

Irons - Miz MP-30s...haven't hit them, probably can't hit them properly, but they are a good looking club that would still offer a bit of forgiveness - perfect

Wedges - While I love the look of Miz wedges, I'm really liking the spin and feel I get from my 54º CG10, so I'll probably go to a 58º of the same and go for a 50º Miz MP series

Putter - Wouldn't trade my Odyssey White Steel 2 ball Blade for anything

Ball - Callaway HX Tour is a cream of the crop ball...flies like bananas

I guess I'll chime in.

Driver: Callaway Fusion Prototype. It's growing on me. Failing that, Launcher 460. Downtown. And, I haven't hit one yet, but the BiG Bertha 454 is being snapped up around town like candy. I guess guys are bombing it.

Fariway woods: I can't get past my Hawkeye Pros. But, i would like a set of Big Bertha II fairways in my bag. Good enough for Phil and Annika, good enough for me.

Hybrid: Cleveland HALO or Mizuno Fli Hi II. I'll put in a good word for Titlesit here, as the hybrids are the only Titleist clubs I can stand. They do good work in this neck of the woods.

Irons: A tie. Either Mizuno Mp-32's or MacGregor 675's. Both outstanding irons. Runner up would be

Wedges: Mizuno MP series or Cleveland Black Pearl CG10's.

Putter: Taylor Made Monza or White Hot 2 Ball Steel Tour edition.

Ball: Callaway HX Tour 3 piece. Can't argue with perfection. Failing that, near perfection in the HX Blue.

You looking for hoing ideas again Rock? Didn't think you needed any help. ;)

For the first time since I started playing again I'm not looking for anything. It's weird but I drove right by the golf shop on my way back from Austin this morning.

Driver? Cobra 460 SZ. Demoed everything, it's what worked best. The game is alot more fun when you're playing it from the fairway.

Fairway woods? Again SZ. Our fairways are kept long and lush and the Cobras have one of the deepest faces available.

Irons? Mizuno MP-32. This one's a wish list item. I don't have the game to play them but I just love the way they look. If my index ever hits single digits I'll give them a try.

Putter? I'm very happy with my putter so need to look beyond my Studio Design 2.5.

Wedge set? Cleveland CG10 black pearl. If I were replacing anything in the bag it would be my 51* RTG for another CG10 to match my 56.

Ball? HX Tour, great ball but I'm too cheap. HX Blue and Pro V1 Xouts are good enough for my game.

When I re-read it I see what you mean, even if it was a tad picky on your part. ;)

What I meant to say was, my game and wallet can't justify the price of the HX Tours even though I like them better. That better anus? :D

I'm on the same page.

As a wish list, the Tours are there. As an everyday anus, it's HX Blues. :D

I'm only going from what I have used:

Driver: Callaway Steelhead III 10* - it is a solid club with good distance and a smaller club head (I'm not comfortable with the 360+ CC heads)

Fairway Woods: Callaway Steelhead III - I carry a 3W and a 5W, easy to swing, good distance and excellent response when hit well.

Hybrid: Taylor Made Rescue Mids - I love them. I won't put the 3I or 4I back in the bag with these there. Easy to swing, comfortable with solid loft. A perfect replacement for my long irons.

Irons: I currently have a set of Taylor made 360XD's and I like them. They are probably not the best on the market, but for the price I got them for ($300 for 3-PW), they have helped my game. I have tried the Callaway Fusions (I did like them very much) and the new Callaway X-18's (also a solid club) and I would buy either one if I could justify the expense...

Wedges: None - I got the Clevelands I have for a good price ($70 each) but I don't hit them very well. So right now I don't have a favorite wedge.

Putter: None - I have an Odyssey DFX 1100 that is OK but a bit long, and I have a Scotty Cameron copy that I am still getting used to. I tried the new White Hot Steel putters (#1) at 32" and I really liked it, nice response and feel to the face, but $120 seemed a bit steep (especially when I got the Cameron copy for $40).

Ball: Titleist DT Solo/NTX - I have played both of these and I like them very much. Good distance with a soft feel for a reasonable price (DT Solo only $20 per dozen). I don't use them often because I am still having some control problems off the tee (and lose more balls than I prefer to), so I stocked up on the Precept Laddie's for $13 a dozen (a very good ball for the money)...

Wish List:

Driver: Taylor Made R7 Quad - would love to try one
Fairway Woods: happy with what I have
Hybrid: happy with what I have
Irons: Callaway X-18's
Wedges: None
Putter: Odyssey White Hot Steel #1 - 32"
Ball: Callaway HX Tour

I'm going to ahead and say that I'm a Taylor Made fanboy, so my answers might be biased.

Driver? Taylor Made R7, Ping G2 (though I'd like to check out the FT-3 when it's released). The R7 just gives me an aura that I'll hit it good, as opposed to my old 320Ti.

Fairway woods? Taylor Made R5, Nike T60

Irons? Can't comment much on these, since I've only had my NDS irons, but I've been hearing great things about the TM RAC CGB's (though one reason is I heard they're stronger lofts compared to other iron sets).

Putter? Odyssey White Hot 2 Ball. Bought my dad this as an early Father's Day gift last month and he's doing much better with it. Played one round with it 2 weekends ago, and while I can't say if it was just luck or whatnot, but took off 4 putts of my lowest putting score with my Nike.

Wedge set? Taylor Made RAC Black or Cleveland CG10's. I use the 56 and 60 TM's with a low bounce and seem to get a really consistant ball flight close to the green. (I don't use either of them at full swing though, rely more on my PW from 15-100 yards, then switch to the SW or LW depending on pin placement). I'll need to get a GW sometime or another. Played one round with my friend's CG10's and I would get them if only I wasn't a stickler for having a matching set.

Ball? While I'm not good enough to see a real benefit from a better ball, I've been having some success with the Titliest V1's.
