Well ... the OPs the question was answered. Jarryd Hayne did make it in the NFL ... for about 14 months.

Although an Australian citizen, his father is Fijian. He has been invited by the Fijian Rugby Union team to play in its Rugby 7s team at the Rio Olympics. So that's where he's headed ...

He certainly did attract attention. The NFL and the 49ers ran separate announcements.

It's huge news in my neck of the woods. He had the whole country behind him for his NFL tilt but I think opinions will be divided over his latest adventure. I think plenty will be disappointed given his statements about pursuing his dream in the NFL. Now he's saying that he's pursuing 'another' dream.
