ok, heres the deal. I play reasonably well 70s most of the time. I play golfsmith Pro forged blades and love them most of the time, however i find myself wanting to cop-out and get a set of cavities to compete with. I also happen to dispise the hollow feel of most of them, but thats something that changes with my mood (not to mention the way ive played that particular day;)) So my list toppers are titleist 990s and Taylor Made RAC LTs. the plan is to keep my blades but play with the cavities for most of my school matches and leisurely days on the course. Then have the lies on my blades readjusted just to keep them nice. well, thats too much of my plan for what i intended to say here. now, back to the point. here's the kicker my budget is about $300, of course both are blue booked on golf exchange for less than that. so is there anyone with experience in buying clubs second hand? auction or used club store? or whatever other advice you may have.

thanks

sorry, can't contain myself anyway, i personally haven't bought clubs secondhand or bought anything on ebay, as long as they have a good customer satisfaction rating you should have no problem, be careful

I've bought almost everything in my bag on eBay. I generally find it somewhere that I can touch it, smell it, hit it... then find the same thing on ebay for about 1/2 the price. I've had no problems, except I bought a Launcher 330 that has a pretty wicked scratch on the top, nothing that affects the playability. I've purchased a set of Top Flite irons, 2 Vokey wedges, a Hippo driver (which arrived with a cracked shaft, but the guy sent me a replacement Next Day Air) and more balls than I can count. I've had nothing but good luck. And I bought a 3 year subscription to Golf Digest for around $7.50... Go nuts!!!
