I met the owner of the local golf store today and he is selling his personal set of MacGregor M675's for $300. I was a little leary that they might be hard to hit but I also had a lesson with them today and I really liked them. I thought that was extremely cheap and he also said he would give me five lessons if I bought the clubs for $400 total. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good deal. I wish the pro that I bought my last set from woulda offered lessons in the deal too. Granted, he is 1k miles away, but it woulda been nice.

Watch out for the January post entitled "Anyone want to buy a set of slightly bent m675s?" LOL.

If it's just the shafts, send me a PM.:D

I think that it is a good deal and should do it, but just out of consideration, what are the lessons on?

Not sure if I know what you mean about what the lessons are on? But here is what I will be working on: improving my swing fundamentals, my tempo, everything that has to do with the golf swing until it is perfect. Then I will start to work on how to work the ball and short game until that is perfect and so on and so on.

I say grab them. They're a great feeling set. And, if they're in half decent shape, you could easily sell them for more than that if they weren't your cup of tea after a few rounds and many trips to the range.

The lessons are a bonus. Get some swing fundamentals down and transfer them to a sweet, sweet set.

Oh, not a bad idea then, go for it!

I did buy them and they are in great shape, hell of a deal. Can't wait to hit the range after work today. Hopefully they won't betray me!

Hopefully they don't!

(But, if they do, Neal will buy them from you, I can almost guarantee. He buys everything else!...lol)

Good luck, Sean.
